true. i was just thinking along the lines of the soviet union. i think it would be hard to compare the US and secession to other nations because we have such a different government. there is no one like us! we win!if you wanna be a friend of mine

but us state secession is fascinating to me. i do think our nation is too big and would like to think more about a confederation of states. when our nation was born the population was so much smaller. i wonder if the founders ever thought it would turn out like this. with our size i just can't see the fed gov being anything but moderate as a whole (well unless a president abuses exec priv). granted, states have conservative/liberal, rural/urban struggles of their own, but maybe they'd be easier to manage. i don't know.if you wanna be a friend of mine
