  • reefercheif, thank you so much. i am also inspired and surprised by the overwhelming number of artists on this board. it's staggering!

V V, that is one of the best compliments anyone has given me. it means a lot when someone says that something i've done has changed their mood...more than i can say. thank you.

also, i wanted to thank each and every one of you once again. i started my website one year ago today, and as of last sunday i finally reached the 10,000 hits mark on my website! it's thanks in large part to the people here who have taken the time to have a look. i love looking at my domain report and seeing places like finland, ireland, argentina, russia, and so on as places of origin for my list of views. so thanks again, and sorry if i sound repetitive, but it means a lot to me. :)

thanks gluten! you have always been very supportive! :)

funny that the day after i posted this message, my web host made a mistake with my account and suspended it due to a paperwork error, apparently. i cannot access the site or my email until monday (at least i'm hoping they straighten it out on monday, as i've already called them several times today to get it fixed and each time they've assured me it would be done by the end of the day...) anyway, my site is gone for now...i'm just hoping they haven't lost the content as well!

    so i guess i'm stalled at 10,000 for a while :)...

all due respect V V, but you have to be kidding me! those paintings are brilliant and your concepts and use of color are equally so. i left a message for you in your thread, so please continue to share your work with us. i would say look proud, not embarassed!!!

i'm jealous of your sketching ability. my sister does some fantastic sketching, and some people have said they like my painting - she's not very good with the paint, and i can't sketch worth a lick, so be happy that you've got them both down! :) fantastic work! thanks again for sharing.

MB10, i had another look at your site, and discovered "Brian". This is my favorite one of all... so simple... yet so lifelike! i love it!

(and looking at your picture, i can't help but be reminded of Jesse James... another hunky artist that i admire!! :))
~~*~~ ...i surfaced and all of my being was enlightend... ~~*~~
  • wow! jesse james...i'll take that...:) thanks ceg!

edit: oh yeah, thanks for the compliment on brian too. it's my take on a photographer friend's self portrait.

    Salut baloo
  • thanks prljam85!

thanks to pinon and burtschips for checking out the site! as always, appreciated..."helpless" was the first one i did, based on the neil young song, of course.

...and gluten, i'm still waiting for a darn pic to post! my friend was in the dominican, then toronto, then cape breton...i hope to hook up with him before summer...:D i'm happy with the finished piece though...hope it will be worth the wait!

well, if "helpless" is based on Niel Young song...I wonder....is "weeping song" based on Nick Caves "weeping song" ??? ....it has to be...right ? ;)

  • weeping song was what i was listening to when i painted that one, yes. i was listening to a lot of nick cave at the time...and so i was trying to convey a dark, cold, and haunting look with the painting...i love doing the black and whites like that one. the tree in that one is kind of like an exaggerated "weeper"...like a weeping birch, or weeping mulberry.

    good call, pinon! :)
