i feel shame that my ego has been exposed...;)
i have also been exposed as a fraud as the truth is i order my paintings from someone else and pass them off as my own, so that is why i don't a have a picture yet to show you and gluten...i am on back order!
really though, it should be within the next couple of weeks that i'll get a picture from him. i'm anxious to show it, but hope it won't be a let down!0 -
still waiting.....................0
-
me too....you sure are taking your timeLife is too serious to be taken seriously0
-
damn! i wish i had a digital camera!
i'm still waiting too...maybe the painting will "drop" on may 2nd
should i just post it here when i finally do get the pic, or start a new thread?...probably just post it here, eh?0 -
To be honest, it's very flat.......I thought the world, turns out the word thought me0

that's cool. do you think it needed more depth then, or more vibrant colours?0
-
dude, those are sweet
Ever be wiiling to part with a set, and if so, what kind of a dollar tag (feel free to pm me)The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!
And I won't make the same mistakes
(Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
(And function)
Function is the key0 -
thanks depopulation.
sent you a PM...

ok, i hadn't jumped into this thread before b/c mookie knows how i feel about his paintings from other threads, etc... but... but... are you dissing my boy?!?
or is this a joke, since it IS painted on a flat surface?
only teasing... i know mook can handle negative criticism. i just don't happen to have any for him.Life is the riddle

Well, to be fair, this is a digital image, and it is in an angle, so there is some distortion.
If you think of the painting panels as:
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
panels 2, 4, and 6 seem to lose your focal points. (although I love the branches in 2!!) Look at the Depth created in panel 1!!!!! You really get a sense of violent tension that can explode any second!!
This would be stronger if this spilled over into rest of the left side of the piece. Also it would be more dramatic if some of the brightness was reflected on the right side. (not too, too much, though)
Over all I do like it, but not as a finished piece. (Does that make sense?)
With the panels displayed like that, What is the overall size? I couldn't tell by the picture.
Moon on panel 3 is haunting as well (I can't seem to place it - ha ha)
I have done printmaking myself, and actually received a BFA, which unfortunately is useless to me anymore.
I would love an honest opinion of some of my work.

My print is Untitled (MICHAEL M BROWN) (3rd from the top)
After looking at it now (I made it 11 yrs ago) It is a bit unimpressive as it did long ago, but it will give you an idea as to my style.
Fellow artist out.......I thought the world, turns out the word thought me0 -

thanks for your reply vitalpj10.i appreciate the compliment about panel 1, as you say. i would agree that i would have liked to drag a touch of the blending from panel one down into panel four, but other than that, the rest is fairly intentional. the right side, especially, is meant to be very dark, almost to the point where you can't see it, almost black.
the tree is supposed to represent "jeremy"...and so "king jeremy ruled his world"... he holds the day in one hand (the sun)...and in his other the darkness of night (the moon)...so it's very hard to see what's going on in the dark half...and the trees below..."the dead lay in pools of maroon below" are meant to look very dead. the two halves are meant to be opposites of each other, so that is why i wouldn't bring any reflection of one side to the other, if that makes sense...hope this helps explain the painting a little bit more...
the piece is intended to be viewed as one painting, if you know what i mean, so it hangs about 3.5'-3.75' by 3.5'-3.75' feet when it is on the wall.
i would be anxious to see more of your work, as i can't tell much from the one piece...you say you did it a while ago. maybe you could share some more recent stuff if you geta chance and give us a better idea of what you're doing now. your style i find intriguing, i will say thatsorry i can't comment more on the one piece...

This stuff is amazing. So, just out of curiousity, what would a commissioned piece run a fellow jammer?I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0
