there was something about his voice
that wouldn't let her go and it haunted her days
there was something in his eyes
she thought she'd seen before and she couldn't stop herself
soon she was smitten and every waking moment spent
thinking of him

and she prayed that long night
prayed for his soul
told him that she loved him
and she'd never let him go

she was left to fight her demons and she struggled to break away
the angels helped her battle and her mother was at her side
love conquered the darkness, but she was left breathless and unsure
trust is not an easy thing when left alone with your mind
she said too much to some at first, though they didn't understand
but now she is silent, although she is screaming inside

and she prayed that long night
prayed for his soul
told him that she loved him

she walks on her own with her thoughts banging in her head
still thinking of the man that brought her to this place
wrapped in isolation, she goes about her daily life
they all think she's just fine and it's okay, it's okay
one day she will break free from this cage she is in
and she tries to dream of him and the day they will be together
