                    Today,
constantly risking
self-alienation
and the like,
I discovered something new,
something I'd suspected
but never sought to bear witness to,
and I had my "crossroads" moment.
Never saw him
and maybe never will,
for perhaps my soul
is not mine to barter with?

hey, I'm 18. I still have formative years where I rip off my influences left right and centre before I have to find my own voice "I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 "I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0

You can't do better than that guy in my book. He's my favorite. Ever. Period.
I steal lines all the time. Well, I used to. But it was always to add the flavor of the source of the line into what I was trying to say. It's still thievery, but whatever 0 0

It's still thievery, but whatever I don't really see the problem with a bit of thievery to be honest. I think I prefer Ginsberg to Ferlinghetti but I still love his poetry. Pictures of the gone world is one of my all-time favourite books.
