    Why do you say that?

I uncovered their illegal practice in 2003. A ticket broker in the area hires bums to protect his investment and threaten other people in line. We were the first one's in line and they pulled a gun on me because I beat them camping out for tickets. It was first come first serve. I gave up the tickets to the box office lady and she handed them to an Asian guy who is a ticket scalper that is always in front of Verizon Center. I got his name which he goes by which is Ritchie. Beware of him and his thugs and the lady that is incharge.

Does anyone know if this was an internet only ticket sale. Did anyone try to buy their tickets from a Ticketmaster outlet? I bought Metallica tickets at an grocery store once. Was this an option for buying EV tixs?

Metallica tickets are easier to get unless its New York or an LA show.

    1) dont buy scalped tickets the day the tickets were "sold out"
    2) wait till the week of the show and ticketmaster will release more, day of the show is even better (they always release more for every band, every show)
    3) if you have to go thru a scalper do it the day of the show, itll be about the same price as face value

If you dont freakout when a show is "soldout" you wont pay inflated prices.

    take a breath, relax

I have my 10c tics for the shows I wanted to see, but seeing this shit makes me sick, "oh tics are sold out but go to our sister site and get them for $500 instead"

such frustration. at 10:00 am and 15 seconds EST... there are no tickets left? but... conveniently our 'partner' has some tickets at triple the cost. F ticketmaster!

That's why bands need to start auctioning off their tickets. I'd rather see the profits go to Pearl Jam than TM.

this happened with the radiohead sale a few months back:

    http://www.ateaseweb.com/2008/04/17/ticketmaster-scalps-radiohead-tickets/

For one of the first times since completing its acquisition of TicketsNow, Ticketmaster has begun scalping tickets by directing fans of a sold out show to its TicketsNow auctions.
TicketNews.com reports that people who were looking for tickets on Ticketmaster, are now being directed to TicketsNow, a move that some ticket brokers feared when the acquisition was approved by the federal government in February.
Radiohead purchased ads in print and on radio to promote the sales of their concert tickets on Ticketmaster, but after those tickets are sold out on Ticketmaster, customers using the Ticketmaster website see a page with options (screenshot at ticketnews.com), with the "Find Tickets" link directing customers to TicketsNow, which is listed as Ticketmaster's "partner site." However, TicketsNow is a secondary ticket seller owned by Ticketmaster.
Ticketnews.com reveals that a source close to the situation, who requested anonymity, a TicketsNow executive helped assist with the sale of more than $1 million worth of Radiohead tickets on the TicketsNow website, which at a margin of 25 percent allowed TicketsNow to generate a gross of more than $250,000 from the deal.
it's funny when things change so much, it's all state of mind...
