    the beer fills his mouth and cools his throat, leaving only a bitter trail in its wake. his thoughts splinter as clarity tries to append the darkness of his spitefull construct. deep down he sees the coward, but the self eluds the light swallowed by the self.

    anna was thinking about davey as she approached her building. she just didn't understand where he was coming from. he was the one that left her. maybe it was the right thing to do. though it didn't feel like it at the time. but she was too tired really to give a damn. and now she was with arlo, he messes with her saying that he loved her. then why did he leave and what good would it do now telling her. why doesn't he just go find someone else. hell he's good looking and talented enough. at least anna always thought so. but of course his biggest appeal to anna was that he let her to do as she pleased. looking up anna saw freya waiting for her on the stoop. she shook her head.you have got to be kidding me

    anna hesitated and then continued towards her sister.

    'what do you want freya. i can't imagine you've got anything to say to me that i'd be even remotely interested in hearing.'

    pulling her keys fron her pocket, anna tried to brush past freya.

    Freya stood there with tears in here eyes. Barely speaking loud enough to hear as if the facts would become less true if she whispered.

    I'm sorry, I really am it just felt, she paused for a second unwilling to admit, it felt like the right thing at the time. He seemed genuinely happy to learn about, again she didn’t finish her sentence straight away, she looked down and than spoke with a voice that made clear she was fighting to keep the tears from rolling, she sighed and took a deep breath, about the baby.

    anna didn't wait for a response, she opened her building's front door and slipped inside, leaving her sister crying on the stoop.

    before freya could answer, they heard a voice behind them.

    'ARLO'

    both freya and arlo looked up to see anna satnding on the top step with an armful of stuff. anna dumped it on her sister's lap.

    'this is all yours. now get out of here freya, i don't ever want you to come around here again. you got that.'

    then anna looked challengingly at arlo.
