  • Well well, uh, yeah, I don't think anyone can really defend him anymore. The guy is hell bent on destroying any last shred of credability he's built over the last twenty years.

sheesh. couldn't have said it better. man, i bet Ben, MAtt and Kim are dying to go : 'told ya so!'

Good thread! Just checked it out. What I find remarkable is that we actually "stole" a lot of U2's legal language and guidelines when we worked on another band's site. Their rules are thorough, fair and realistic. People are going to fight, to disagee and throw tantrums. Cool. Follow the guidelines with the fighting and things usually go just fine.
And just like clockwork, it's gone. Such a joke.

And I worded everything so perfectly even though that formating thingy is kind of crappy.

Anyhoo, at least I know that I can have perfectly good, rowdy ass conversations elsewhere like here. Hell, the other day on U2.com one guy called Bono a "fat fuck" in a thread where were we talking about him needing to hit the gym before the next tour starts.

That post and that thread are still standing. Some thought calling him a fat fuck was funny, others not so much but the thread and our right to express still stands.

I never thought the day would come that everyone on this board would agree about Cornell. It's so sad :(
  • I can't seem to access the new picture from work....it seems I am fortunate in that regard, sounds pretty fucking awful

Yeah. There's a hotness that even "sell-out-ism" can't touch. Just sayin'.

To be honest I don't think he looks very good in the picture. He needs a haircut

I don't agree with most of the stuff I've seen on this thread lately. I really don't care if he does phone ads, chose to let Timbaland and others have a part in the writing, or who he's in touch with personally. I keep reading this thread and its getting pretty ugly at times. Its getting ugly towards Clare, which seems unfair. Calling her names is just kinda ... shitty. I don't have any special association with her either. I do think that its funny how yall have these expectations of Cornell, musically and personally. Yall seem just as star-stuck as anyone on the CC board defending him, to me. I went over there and read last night.

I'm 99% sure I won't like this album as much as anything pre-Carry On. But I don't alot of music as much as I do Cornell's catolog. I think this one still may have the potential to be better than Carry On, which is still good at times. I'm definately going to get it... and its almost September... I'm hoping I like it aleast as much as Justin Timberlake's last album, we'll see.

I didn't say anything about about Timbaland, Clare, the phone ads etc... nor have I commented about any of those things. I do think most people on this board think Cornell, musically, has gone way down hill. I could care less about the other stuff. I just think, knowing what Cornell is capable of, it's sad the quality of music he is putting out. We have those expectations b/c he has proved in the past that he can make amazing music. I have no expectations of him personally. That is ALL i meant. You make a lot of assumptions from a little one sentence post!!

i dont think he meant you... but ill go ahead and take credit for all those things cause all of them do bother me... ive said it before and ill say it again... music or any form of art for that matter should reflect life... if youre living what seems to me to be a shallow, superficial life than your work, no matter how strong will be tainted and insincere in my book... as for clare, i wouldnt go so far as to namecall since she hasnt done so on the CC board... but she really should reevaluate her importance in the life of chris and stop stomping around like shes his personal bodyguard... and the cowriters is what really irks me because from what i heard he treated tom, tim and brad pretty shitty and selfishly with audioslave and now hes just willing to share credit and royalties with any tom dick or harry... and its not just any cowriters... its people that specialize in SHIT music

i will admit some stuff may be overboard... but when you dont get any news on the damn album directly from the artist despite having half of it leaked, all you have to do is sit and stew over how bad it all seems... atleast many of us have tried keeping a sense of humor about it along the way
