Just want to say thanks to everyone who posted in this thread. I was on holiday for two weeks and then saw that everyone had read my mind and put down all my thoughts! I need not comment as it has already been said.0

He's gonna have to like reading it, because his own board has been wrecked.
All that's left are some people picking up street team points to try and meet him... and of course, the forum ruler, making sure to respond to every dissenting post.0 -

Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.0 -

facepollution wrote:Well Chris did pick them out of all the people he could have chosen to play with live, not to mention that three of them are in a band together and they make pretty damn good music: http://www.myspace.com/runthroughthedesert sounds better than anything I've heard so far from Cornell's new record."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

Nowadays, I'm not quite sure. I live in the NYC area, and back in the day, alot of rappers/R&B artists had street teams, especially the B-team artists.
Basically, the street teamers would pass out demos, put up posters, some viral marketing, etc. Raise awareness.
I'm sure that's where the CC street teamers are doing to a point, I heard a story of someone who put an ad for the last CD on the car and went driving around the country or something like that.
Seems like most of the ones on the site are just attack dogs, though, they go search google for articles/reviews critical of Chris and either admonish the people who don't agree with them, or just bomb the place with tons of positive feedback. If you see an article about CC where the tone has gone from extremely negative to positive the street teamers have been there.0 -
It seems like a D.I.Y PR campaign or some sort. Good for them if they enjoy it, but frankly, as much as I love the guys music, I would never care for an artist that much to put that much time and effort into it0

Don't forget to buy those CD's for gifts to friends! Your 3 year old nephew will love a copy of Carry On! The best part is that you have to document your activities to your leader in order to gain valueable points towards things like trinkets and meet and greets, where you can shriek to Chris how much you love him, or just stand there creepily speechless!0 -

I'm a little in awe but I just had a post get deleted. Deleted. I've never had that happen to me.
Someone posted that they didn't know why things like passes for the meet and greets weren't given out randomly to fans or through contests and why such things seemed reserved for the goofy street teamers who accumulated "points" for all of their eforts. I responded that such an idea is ridiculous, too impartial, too non-preferential, and too logical, giving regular, honest, long term fans those things instead of reserving them for those on the "payroll".
Next thing I know, my post is gone. I'm a little stunned. Maybe I should be proud."I'm here to see Pearl Jam."- Bono

If Chris made a mindblowing album that got great reviews and actually got his record company to publicise it then he wouldn't need a bunch of kids putting posters up at their high schools.0

sgossard3 wrote:ha yah... getting banned or deleted from the CC board is definitely a badge of honor and a sign of sanity...
Amen to that. They have spammers on there that never seem to get banned. Oh but mention something negative about the new music, street team, dickface Timbaland, etc., and you'll be deleted/censored. If you keep it up, you'll be banned. The board is a fucking disgrace these days, much like the new music.0 -

Exactly. I can understand it when promoting some unknown, underground artist. But this guy has had two number 1 albums to his name, and all the bands he has been in have gone multi-platinum. He's not exactly a household name but come on, isn't this a job for the management?0 -
facepollution wrote:Just watching the Leno performance again, I just realised how repetitive Long Gone is too, it kind of goes nowhere.
I think it sounds worse as a rock song. I actually "liked" the samplely poppy cut better.0 -
Apparently, Justin Timberlake and Ryan douchebag Tedder make appearances on the new album as well. I wasn't sure if that little tidbit had been posted in this 40-PAGE thread yet. Isn't this fantastic?!?! Come on people show your enthusiasm for Chrissy Cornelli!!0

Man, that is so depressing......
He's lost all integrity.....
He used to be a rock singer and musician - he's now a pop star and a shit one at that......'The more I studied religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped anything but himself.' - Sir Richard Francis Burton0
