"Try not to breath" by r.e.m. (from Automatic For The People)....actually that ENTIRE record is filled with depressing songs!
......this song reminds me of my grandmother who parished just before the aforementioned was released.0 -

That is one of my favorite R.E.M. songs,
Another one I want to throw out is "End of the Tour" by They Might Be Giants. Anytime I mention the Giants, I have to mention that I loved them until I had the "pleasure" of meeting them and realizing they were jerks.
But back to the point, "End of the Tour" is a song about a bunch of teenagers who are killed in a car accident. I'm surprised Pearl Jam hasn't covered it.I love my female wife...
we sit around and wonder exactly why our marriage should feel threatened by gay marriage0 -
Notorious B.I.G. - Suicidal Thoughts
"When I die, fuck it I wanna go to hell
Cause I'm a piece of shit, it ain't hard to fuckin' tell"
"All my life I been considered as the worst
Lyin' to my mother, even stealin' out her purse
Crime after crime, from drugs to extortion
I know my mother wished she got a fuckin' abortion
She don't even love me like she did when I was younger
Suckin' on her chest just to stop my fuckin' hunger
I wonder if I died, would tears come to her eyes?
Forgive me for my disrespect, forgive me for my lies"
and of course the ending of the song.0 -

Angels and Fuselage~Drive-by Truckers
Looking out the window, the trees are getting closer it seems.
Thinking bout you Darling.
Adding up the cost of these dreams.
Strapped to this projectile, just a blink ago I was back in school.
Smoking by the gym door, practicing my rock-star attitude
And I'm scared shitless of what's coming next.
I'm scared shitless, these angels I see in the trees are waiting for me.
The engines have stopped now. We all know we are going down. Last call for alcohol.
Sure wish I could have another round.
And I'm scared shitless of what's coming next.
Scared shitless, these angels I see in the trees are waiting for me.
Waiting for me.
Friends in the swamp.
Friends on the ground, in the trees.
Angels and fuselage. All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.0 -
Tom Waits, 'Georgia Lee''We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

That song actually made me cry the first time I heard it. This part in particular:
"Close your eyes and count to ten
I will go and hide but then
Be sure to find me, I want you to find me
And we'll play all over
We'll play all over
We'll play all over
again""I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -

Years ago, "Behind Blue Eyes" made me cry. Admittedly, I was on some pretty powerful drugs at the time.

I don't know why but "Clocks" by Radiohead always makes me want to jump off of a ledge somewhere.
Also, that one love song that goes something like, "Some people wait a lifetime for this......"; I don't know by who but it just makes me so sad.
Oh, and while I am at at it, last night I heard "Celebrate Me Home" and had the intense desire to punch Kenny Loggins. That song is so fucking sad.
that's all I can think of for now.............Baby, You Wouldn't Last a Minute on The Creek......
Together we will float like angels.........
In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........0 -
It's not the most depressing song ever, but man, it gets you when you're not quiet there: Drowning, Stereophonics..
I don't know why
I don't what is wrong
Oh no
Is karma gonna get me?
At times that’s all I see
It's not real
Wanna feel
Wanna feel, like I did before
Mornings I can't breathe
Wave crashes over me
And drowns me
Mind's running rings around me
It takes me time to see
What is real?
Wanna feel
Wanna feel
Like I did before
Like I did before
Time changes things
Like I never thought
Like I never saw?
Time changes me
I'm like I never was
Oh no
I’m looking back to what I was
I’ve seen my face right on the floor
And I love you, being around
I say it again, I’m not fucking around
I’ve seen it before
I’ll see it again
It’s knocking my door
And it never pretends
I'm down on my knees
And I don't know where to go to find my way back home
I'm drowning
I'm drowning
I'm drowning
I'm drowningDon't let the world bring you down, not everyone here is that fucked up and cold. Remember why you came and while you're alive, experience the warmth before you grow old.
Best two days of my life: Oasis at MSG and Pearl Jam at the Gorge.0
