We are all biased by what we like and listen to I'm sure.

I am torn between Magic, Year Zero, and The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust. I just can't choose between these. I see In Rainbows got quite a few nods - I've heard parts of it - sounds good, but not really my type of sound.
    R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
    R.i.p. My Dad - May 28, 2007
    R.i.p. Black Tail (cat) - Sept. 20, 2008

when considering that funeral is better, i am hard-pressed to think that neon bible is the best record this year...

For me, Neon Bible is the better album. I see it as Funeral is to Ten what Neon Bible is to Yield. And even if you think of Funeral as the better album, that doesn't stop Neon Bible from being the best album of the year.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

It's a close match between Magic and Neon Bible for me. It's tough, but I'll have to give the edge to Neon Bible simply because it says more than Magic does (Girls in Their Summer Clothes? Come on man!).
It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win

    Been there, done that.
If you've seriously just discovered Bowie, then 'Hunky Dory' has always been my favourite.
