It won't. It will sound exactly the same as the last album, which sounded exactly the same as the one before that which sounded exactly like the first one, which wasn't very good. Sorry for the wiseass remark, but I'm from Boston and have had personal interaction with Sully and found him to be a total dick.

I'm thinking it'll be about as good at the previous 3. They all sound identical.

I don't think you'll get much appreciation from the "other music" forum either. You're in a sticky predicament my little friend. I suggest you either choose a better path for yourself or suffer the consequences.

I actually saw them after their first album (I think). Put on a hell of a show. Not PJ by any means but I was into it. But I guess they didn't impress me enough that I'm still buying their albums. Sully has some strange views as well.

Yeah, I like the sound of fake bands trying to be cool too. It's about the sound man! The sound!!! :p

I liked Godsmack when they were called Alice In Chains and wrote songs that meant something other than dark evil cool shit.

Godsmack is an AIC wannabe, and the lead singer has only two notes. THe lack of voice fluxuation is annoying.(in my opinion)

Godsmack is very proud that they were huge fand of Alice N Chains, they have said the band name was directly from them. They don't try and hide that. I think Godsmack is a good mix of Very Heavy and some cool mellow songs also.
They are no PJ and they aren't Tool, but they have a good sound.

I wouldn't say they are one of my fav bands but I certainly don't mind them. Sully is also a VERY good drummer......
    The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    Feels like were all alone
    Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

    So what are we becoming?
    Where did we go wrong?

Hell Yeah I agree , they do put on a rockin live show, Saw them open for Metallica a couple years ago and for an opening act the was pretty much every seat filled in the arena when Godsmack too the stage which doesn't happen often at all for an opening act.

The new album is so-so. It is no better no worse than their last few, but they are starting to bore me, after I liked them in the beginning-
    I'll keep taking punches
    Untill their will grows tired

Heres the deal, sully has no variation in his vocals, The instruments are better than average however the whole "we're in love with aic is just a ploy. They or their manager or an executive at their record company realized that they werent good enough to last more than a couple of years with the shit they had. They were given the option to play the game. While playing the game they started making albums that would sound just like aic if sully sounded like Layne. Like i said previously, the music is pretty good but it is too fabricated with someone elses sound for my taste, Also, i can think of 20 different times when i would here the beginning of a song on the radio and think to myself, "i love aic," just to be let down after 3 measures when i found out it was gosmack. The intro to a few of their songs are direct rip offs of aic.
