I have a greatest hits collection of theirs. It stretch from around 64 to 68. What album of theirs is their best and what albums of theirs should I get?

    Ahh...The Kinks.
The most underated band of all time.
A key cog in the British Invasion.
Get their first album..The Kinks, released 1964
You probably have some tunes on that greatest hits.
Next for something a little later,
    Schoolboys In Disgrace, '75
    Low Budget, '79

    Enjoy!!

Apeman is quite possibly the best song ever written. The Kinks are so good.

Totally agree! I grew up with them and am still amazed at the songs they did that I loved and didn't realize were them. Don't know why they didn't get more recognition. :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

bit of trivia: The cover of the kinks album "kontroversy" is emulated by sleater kinney for their "dig me out" album.
Like a cloud dropping rain, I'm discarding allllll thought.
