Pretty dumb announcement..........RHCP are an MTV band. I dunno why anyone around here gives a shit about them, when most people despise MTV. They are and have been as bad as Greenday for awhile now.

At least they have a list of cities that they're going hit. That's more than I can say for PJ right now.

I just had this discussion with my g/f (she loves RHCP).

Pearl Jam has announced a leg, and put tickets on sale, RHCP just some cities listed.

Pearl Jam has one price level for their fanclub, RHCP has two. Oh and if you buy the album from iTunes, you get a presale before the onsale.

Maybe its just me, but RHCP really screws with their fans.

Of course the Tenclub is a better fanclub then what the RHCP have going. With that said I think it's good that they announced the cities. At least now I know they're coming to my area. Good RHCP tickets are not as hard to get as PJ tickets. So getting presale tickets is not that essential. Also they're playing 3 shows in Northern Califronia which is great. More than likely PJ will just play 1 and then I'll have to travel hours to catch another show. Also don't forget these RHCP shows start in August. Leg 2 of the PJ tour will probably start in late June. So the RHCP are actually ahead of PJ, especially since actual tickets go on sale next month. Meaning that actual dates will probably be annouced in the next few weeks. I love PJ but they're not doing a very good job planning this tour.

Nice, stopping in Toon town! I will not be missing that one. And whoever suggested RHCP are an MTV band so we should not give a shit about them is being a bit foolish. Granted 'MTV bands' can be regarded as some of the worst on the planet when you look at all the shitty pop music we have out there. But every now and then a good honest group can squeeze through the cracks and I think RHCP are one of those bands (PJ did it with Ten). To disregard a band simply because they get MTV play is being overly anti-conformist in my opinion. It's exactly that kind of thing that leaves PJ off a lot of people's radars because they remember Ten, part of the MTV grunge movement.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?

Did anyone see the Billboard article? Why would they include a picture that only has two of the current band members. Jack Irons is in the picture! Couldnt they have gotten something a little more recent, say, anytime in the last 15 years?

What makes this tour even better is the mighty Mars Volta are opening for them.

Definitly. The dates don't really bother me, but I can see how it bothers some people who need to travel, but it's all not a big deal. I could care less. I know they're coming to Cleveland & Buffalo, so I'll deifnitly be able to see them at least once. Just knowing that for Pearl Jam is more than I could ask for! :)
