What is everyones favorite music to listen to during the summer while driving around? Music that just sets the tone for the summer and is fun for road trips and just cruising.

More specific songs. What would your playlist for the summer be?

Songs that you can sing along to with the windows down and have a wonderful time.

I've found Tom Petty's Wildflowers album is pretty damn good for summer driving.

I'm also looking to put together a CD to drive around with of entirely Phish songs. I like the band, but I don't know their catalouge very well, at all. Can anyone name me some good songs that are energetic from start to finish, that are just fun to dance to and jam out to? I don't like the ones that mellow out for long periods of time, but more one with great mind bending Trey solos that stay energetic and capture one's interest the entire song. Get one songs I'm looking for? :)

I remember back in the day (8-9 years ago) a fraternity brother and I would go out driving around town on the first few days when the weather was nice and listen to Nine Inch Nails "Pretty Hate Machine". Its a fun disc to listen to while just driving around.

Farmhouse is one album you should definitely pick up for the summer time. It is one of the greatest feeling albums ever. Very beautifuly written. It's not as much of a jam album but its got some great songs.

...anything by petty, CCR, and Pearl Jam works out great for me in the summertime.

I don't bother with individual songs, just specific albums that I enjoy listening to:

Pearl Jam - Live On Two Legs and Rearviewmirror
    Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child
Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind

    Probably a few more too.

    Yield - Pearl Jam
Throwing Copper - Live (this album has a similar vibe all the way through, reminds me so much of the summer I bought it)
August and Everything After - Counting Crows
    Blind Melon - Blind Melon
    Californication - RHCP
Songs for the Deaf - QOTSA
    Superunknown - Soundgarden
Automatic for the People - REM
    Purple - STP

Anyone else digging the band Wolfmother? They're an Australian stoner type band, I think they're really cool, got a great summery type vibe.
