Go to any town square on a saturday afternoon and you'll see all the emo kids.

They all look the same but think they're 'different'.

Some of the girls though...man ;)

Me and my friends actually call it 'Emo Square' or 'The Square of despair'.

    Jimmy Eat World

Yeah you can't really talk about emo and not mention Jimmy Eat World, they are often considered one of the first emo bands. I personally love them, and think they are far more diverse than all the current emo bands like Panic at the disco, fall out boy etc. Also Weezer's Pinkerton is often touted as the first emo album....

you guys are forgetting Hawthorne Heights. they are the worst band i think to walk on this planet.

they are the all time emo-shitty, band.
  • The problem with emo is that the fans always deny that their favourite emo bands are actually emo. It's kind of hard to figure out who is, and who isn't. I just know that it's not really for me. To me, it just sounds like a bunch of middle class white kids who write lyrics like they're paid by the word.

yeah! and you see an emo kind and they say "im not emo!" but they clearly have the straitened dyed black parted hair, afi-liner, painted nails, tight pants, and fall out boy shirt. its like why not just admitt it?

uao exactly like many grunge bands denied they were grunge...pearl jam never admited they were grunge and they always had used flanel shirts, boots, long hair, breaking guitars ´´iggy pop did it before´´, ´´grunge´´ yell, etc... of course they weren´t grunge...

emo, grunge, hair metal it´s all bullshit labels.... every label revolution has some great and bad bands...
  • well to me there's a big difference between pop/punk and emo. fall out boy, AFI, Panic! At The Disco, and Simple Plan to me all that stuff is pop/punk.
