I hope not. I think it's an insult to Layne Staley.

That would be terrible. Such an insult to Layne. If the guys and Jerry want to get a new singer that's fine, but this is not the way to do it.

AIC is too dark for a show like this...can't see it happening, unless Jerry and the other guys find it okay to make a mockery of their music that mattered to people. It would really hurt to see this bullshit.

Whilst I hope it isn't gonna be AIC, i did enjoy the INXS version - far better than Pop Idol, X factor etc.

    thats just fucking pathetic.
how the fuck could anyone watch that shit. and to associate that with AIC is an insult. why would that teeny booper audience want to hear dark eerie songs about drug addiction anyway?
    sorry this makes me angry

I doubt it's gonna happen anyway, they are playing Nova Rock festival in June, i don't think they would have time to recruit a new singer in that time, if my memory serves me correctly, the last series went on for quite a while.

I'm almost positive that it's not AIC! INXS was here at my station last week and I asked one of the members what band was going to be on the next "Rockstar" and they couldn't tell me anything other than that Dave Navarro will be on again and it will be the same concept of finding a new singer for a band! I told him that I was hearing rumors of Van Halen and him and another guy smiled/laughed (I dont' know if that means I/we were right with Van Halen or if they laughed because I was completely off) and then I said Alice In Chains and they both made a face as if it was highly unlikely! I tried getting more info out of him, but that's all he'd give!

Alice In Chains look set to reform for the first time since the death of lead singer Layne Staley back in 2002. The line up featuring Jerry Cantrell on guitar, Mike Inez on bass and Sean Kinney on drums will at the Nova Rock. Festival in Austrailia later this year. So who's to sing? William DuVall, a member of Jerry Cantrell's solo band.

    Another 'Rock Star' Update
    February 14th, 2006

    Undercover.com Reports...

And The Next Band To Use Reality TV To Find A Singer Is...
    by Eve Jenkin

Rumours have been circling the internet since the conclusion of reality TV series "Rock Star: INXS" as to who the next band would be that uses the talent quest to find a lead singer. "Will it be Queen or Van Halen?" asked many, but the truth is it's neither. The next "Rock Star" band is most likely....Camp Freddy.

"Camp who?" one might ask. Well it all makes sense when informed that "Rock Star: INXS" host Dave Navarro is in the band. That's right, according to an industry insider who told Undercover Camp Freddy, comprising the aforementioned Navarro alongside Billy Morrison (The Cult), Matt Sorum (Guns N Roses), Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction) and Donovan Leitch Jr, will be the band looking for their very own JD Fortune in 2006.

If you're not familiar with the band, guitarist Billy Morrison explains it all on Camp Freddy's official web site. "Camp Freddy is not a band, but it is also way more than a jam session...Camp Freddy is an 'Occasional Happening', a freak of (Hollywood) nature," he says. "What happens when we get together and play is anyone's guess. Surprise guests, lounge singers turned heavy rock superstars, some of the world's greatest guitarists playing three chord punk tunes. I mean, who knows what will happen at the next show? It's not about money, or managers, or agents, but about motivation and fun...What we all got into the business for originally. We play some of the greatest rock and roll songs ever written, have a real laugh doing it, and invite artists that we respect to play them with us. It's the real spirit of Rock and Roll."

Dave Navarro must have been so impressed with last year's results he decided to utilized the format to gain a similar surge in publicity as INXS did circa the TV show's airing. You never know this could even be the way Navarro brings back Jane's Addiction.

last time i checked he was

i dont know.......im not much of a fan fo that program.............though i still is not as bad as 99% of so called reality shows............still if that info i put is true, then it would definetely be a lame season................to search for a singer for a band that doesnt even exist?????

    that's pretty lame

yeah it might be lame, but whoever was chosen would definetly become a "rockstar" in that band, i guess thats all they are looking for, who says it needs to be a replacemnet lead singer for an existing band, if that lineup were to really form an actual official band i'm sure they would come up with some decent music

I doubt Camp Freddy will be the band, since Dave Navarro's new band Panic Channel have a record coming out soon, and I would imagine that will be his priority.
