Scalping is not an issue with 10c seats, regardless of how seating is allocated because you are forced to pick up tickets at the venue on the day of the show. This is not conducive to most scalping practices.

    .
That was instituted to aid in scalping prevention, pre-2000 your tix were mailed to you.
But its quite easy for a scalper to pick up his tix at will call, head out to the street and scalp them, so will call does not prevent scalping, it hampers it to an extent.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

If a person who joins today has as much a chance at front row as someone who's been in the 10C 3, 5, 10, or 20 years...
The number of memberships skyrocket (scalpers or otherwise)...
Thus making it exponentially more difficult to get 10C tickets AT ALL (it's become more difficult as it is)...
And you're left fighting with TM and scalpers for marginal seats (the sheer volume of tickets the 10C gets blocked off is just insane)...

The point...careful what you wish for.

I only just joined 10c about 2months ago and by no means do I expect favours. Do I want front row seats???? hell yeah, but when some of you guys were joining up in 1995 i was in year 4 learning about triangles.....

Now I thought for years (before i had a visa or anything) that 10c was a random lottery, buy your tickets, turn up and you may have goodies you may have baddies. Then I found out it was seniority and I was hesitant because of course I want good sets so I was weighing up whether I should be purchasing mine through 10c or ticketek.

So In conclusion, while I would like good seats, those who have been with 10c the longest should be rewarded with good seats, while with me, who was 9 in 1995 should be exempt and given front row sets as well (jokes:D)

What about a system where you are allowed up to say 3-5 shows using ticketing w/ seniority the way it currently is? This satisfies the diehards who have been a member since the early 90's. At the same time it isn't the same people in the front row for EVERY show and allows those who haven't had the opportunity to see PJ up close the chance to move up 5-10 rows.
Also with this system if a person so chooses to go to more than 5 shows, they will still be allowed 10 club privileges with their tickets issued in seniority order after the above mentioned system of ticketing has been fulfilled.
I have been a member since '98 so my seats are usually pretty good, but I can see where a member from 1992 can bitch as well as a member from 2007 can bitch. I think my idea is a fair compromise to all and would definitely lead to less bitching. As we all know there will always be people that aren't happy no matter what you do unless you are sitting on a stool next to Eddie on the stage.

    Well said, I agree

for a mere $20 a year, you are guaranteed an opportunity to buy tickets. That's fucking awesome.

I just joined 10C in January. Although I have been a fan much longer (like many) - I could have joined earlier - but didn't. I do however, admire those whom have been members from the beginning - or at least much, MUCH longer than myself. I certainly do not think I deserve better seats than you. I just think it would be great if we could all just consider each other friends - even when my future potential 10C seats are really bad! I would just love sharing the same space with Pearl Jam and ALL of their fans!

No complaints; I've been in the tenclub since 99. I've been having great tickets and sometimes shitty ones.

I think that after the 20th row, they should request the tickets at the side of the stage instead of having people going all the way in the back. Trust me, 26th row, when there's a 6,5 feet tall guy in front of you, it kind of suck!!!

I asked if you wanted me to scoot..!

I have a higher 10C number than most, and yeah, of course I'd love an opportunity to have front row at some point, but in all honesty, I'm just thrilled to get to go and see the greatest band play some tunes. My very first concert I was able to attend was in '05 and although I had been a 10C member for a while, I wasn't able to get any 10C tix... got some from ticketbastard and had the greatest seats, first row on the back corner of the open stage... when Ed came around the back to see those of us back there, he was maybe 8 feet from me and passed my his tambourine... so fu(k... I'm not doing any complaining at all!!! And, hate me or not... Yes, I was one of the lucky few that were able to score 10C EV tix, so I am happy as a pig in s#it!!! Love to all!
