2nd favorite band

(if PJ is not your first, then name your favorite band)
which did you like first?
are they similar to PJ, how?
(i wonder if there are a lot of STP fans here, as they have made some pretty damn good sounding Pearl Jam albums)

PJ is numero uno.
2. Beck -he's done everything musically and because of that I know he'll be making records into my grey years even though I'm not 30 yet. Very exciting to know that. Mind you, I don't love everything he's done and hate a decent portion of it. But when he hits he hits!
Today PJ is #1
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are # 2 ( for today )

From a rock standpoint, I also love Tool and Incubus

Pearl Jam for "currently playing" #1.
I suspect that when PJ hangs it's hat up, that it will be a 3-way tie for #1, with Pearl Jam joining The Beatles & Led Zeppelin. For me anyways....

Pearl Jam
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Bruce Springsteen
Those are the top 4, and they rotate.
HM goes to Jimi, The Arcade Fire, Jack White, and Nine Inch Nails.
#2 ATM it is Bruce Springsteen
I've been a Pearl Jam fan since 1996. I've been a Wilco fan since 2005. They have very little in common.
I find that it isn't all that important to me to have a "favorite" band anymore. I'm focused on discovering new music nowadays, so it's not like I listen to Wilco or Pearl Jam on a daily or even weekly basis.
In terms of active bands, Arcade Fire is my second favorite. I love them for many of the same reasons I love Pearl Jam. Their live shows are such emotionally powerful experiences.
