Synchronicity's pretty rocking as well. I just recently got into them as well... not sure, but I just love the music.

This is what I listen to when I listen to the Police.

I dont like Andy Summers on guitar, Id wager Sting ditched the band because he got sick of playing with him.

I respectfully disagree with you on this one .
If we would attribute the breakup to any inner- band personal issues , I'd say it was due more to the fact that Sting was clashing ( pardon the pun ) with Copeland . These guys are very very similiar and have similiar personality traits ( like control, maybe ? ) I remember even seeing an interview where Copeland threw water into Stings face, and they proceeded to get into a wrestling match - all on camera- as Andy just sat by as the innocent bystander . I also know that Andy has gone on to do alot of Producing in the Music Industry .

As much as I would love to see a reunion, I just dont see it happening . Sting has gotten to big for himself, and his ego has surpassed his desire to share the spotlight with 2 other musicians onstage .

Andy Summer's work with Robert Fripp(King Crimson) is very trippy.

From what I've heard, the only thing stopping a Police reunion is Sting.
    WTF?
What else is he doing...because it appears that his "solo career" is a bit quiet right now? I don't get it...

Sting and Stewart do play nice with each other. When Sting got married Sting, Andy and Stewart borrowed the band's instruments and started playing. Sting's quote and I'm paraphrasing "The song started and I looked at Stewart and those old emotions came up." Sting and Stewart are both too head-strong to tour or record. Well, I think Stewart could compromise but Sting will not.
  • The Police have some good shit.

    One of my favorites.
Oh he fills it up with the love of a girl...

  • Anyone else into their music? I just started liking them. I guess I'm a little late. I bought "Ghost in the Machine" a few weeks ago and liked it so much I bought their other four albums today.. I've got a lot of "new" music to absorb right now! :)

    hehe.
i refer to them nowadays as 'the pearl jam of my youth'....:D so yea, i LOVE em! they were HUGE for me, my first concert ever...bit obsessive...and oh my...i was totally infatuated with stewart copeland, thought him beautiful...and hell yes, i measure all drummer's talents against him. GREAT band.

Two of the under appreciated guitar gods of the rock era..........Was a big Police fan back in the day............still a huge King Crimson fan.

back in the day...i had just about anything anyone from the band produced...musically or otherwise. have to say, andy's not a half-bad photographer either.

lucky for my hubby i never got to meet, and thus marry as i always planned to ;), stewart copeland. :D

and yes, the collaboration between fripp and summer is excellent stuff. the police were a very rhythym-driven band, understandably with a singer/bass player at the helm...but summer's guiter riffs added unmistakable, and SO necessary, flavor to the bass/drums driving the band's work.

    *edit - damn typos...spelling...pathetic grammar! :o haha.

actually still a big Police fan.......still have all of the albums on cassette somewhere in the garage.......plus the box set in the cd format

Was perhaps my vote for best live band that I saw in person until Pearl Jam happened along.......I wish I still had that killer concert tee from the "Ghost in the Machine" tour.

I love The Police.  Young Sting was cool 😎.  Andy and Stewart will always be cool.
