    9. Simple Plan-I have a simple plan…never buy their albums. This might have been the band that started the whole Emo movement. You know what Layne Staley did when he was down…heroin, you want to know what Kurt Cobain did…blew his head off. These were guys with real issues that bleed through into their music. Most of these newer bands just bitch about mommy and daddy not loving them. But i guess when your 12 and you think mommy and daddy don’t love you then this type of music is perfect for you.

I hate Simple Plan as well but TBH, I got sick of the "woe is me" attitude that came from Cobin and Staley as well.

  • Sigur Ros would have to be in there for me....
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

For me yes, Sigur Ros are way up there. Sorry! :p

  • I just don't care enough about Creed and Nickelback to say I hate them. My worst bands grate on my being like a razor to a wrist. Bands like these....

    Oasis
    Razorlight
    The Ting Tings
The Verve (one song from them is fine, but the rest is rage-inducingly boring)
    Queen
Anything involving Pete Docherty... Kids, don't take docherty!
Pendulum (Get off the stage, you're embarrassing yourself... it's not cool, it's not clever, it's definintely not funny, and most of all... stop calling it Drum 'n Bass... fast rock beats with shit synths over the top don't make it D'nB)
    UB40
    Abba
    Limp Bizkit

  • so do you guys hate any bands who have actually left an actual impact on the art of music, or who are well respected, instead of flash-in-the-pan mainstream rock/pop acts?

let's try coming up with some originality, instead of these softball acts that pretty much everyone hates already.

the only interesting response i've seen is Sigur Ros

    Here's some I'll throw in:
    Jack Johnson
    Art Brut
    Mars Volta
    Gnarls Barkley
    Him
    Battles
    Flight of the Conchords
    Ozomatli
    Mates of State
    Tegan and Sara
  • Grateful Dead
    Phish
    Creed
    Nickelback
    Trixter
    Jackyl
    Nelson
    Good Charlotte
    Fall Out Boy
    Winger
  • Post-'Black album' Metallica without a doubt. Talk about a band that just threw it on cruise control.

Huh? Most of my list are very well respected, yet shit, bands.. who have 'actually left an impact on the art of music'.

Jack Johnson? When did he do that? Flash in the pan.

Gnarles Barkley? Flash in the pan.

    Him? Flash in the pan.

    Battles? Flash in the pan.

Flight of the Conchords... pretty funny, but probably flash in the pan.

Either way, you can name some obscure band names which a lesser person hasn't heard of. Well done. :)

Jackyl? come on man , any band that uses a chainsaw in a song cant be in that top 10. I remember back in the day seeing a girl in a grocery store with a Jackyl shirt on , on the back read "Rock me , Roll me, Jackyl me off!" I instantly wanted to take her home to meet my mom.
