Just listening to No Code the other day and took note of Jeffs work in Present Tense. Amazing Stuff. What though would be his best work? Anyone have any thoughts? We all know the opening to Jeremy is made of legend but what are his other highlights?

I really like what Jeff did in rats! Jeff had a groovy side that seems to have disappeared with Dave A.I will swallow poison0

Oceans and Breath.
Frankly his fretless work far outstrips his other stuff."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -

Inside Job.....some sweet bass on that intro....
I also love his sound on Save You, the way it just cuts through.....
Present Tense too.....'The more I studied religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped anything but himself.' - Sir Richard Francis Burton0 -

the bass line in "all those yesterdays" is simple but works well.
So many others...
When I began to play the bass, I was impressed by Fleas' basslines. Now that I play since 12 years, I prefer, by far, Jeff's way of playing.2006: Antwerp, Paris

Same here, I play bass too and far prefer Jeff to Flea, sometimes less is more and Jeff is much more of a 'feel' player, which I greatly admire.....'The more I studied religions the more I am convinced that man never worshipped anything but himself.' - Sir Richard Francis Burton0 -

Flea has some good stuff but it's maybe too technical and the melody isn'"t always there.2006: Antwerp, Paris

I don't have much of an opinion because I haven't really thought it through yet, but I love the way you put yours.
Great stuff!

me 3. made the same move to loving jeffs basslines after Flea, they fill out the music so well.
some of the most simple and hauntingly heavy ones are the Daughter tags and Crown Of Thorns...
the "why would you want to hurt me?" part of Animal, where jeff literally smacks the shit out of his 4 strings at once is brilliant aswell. Fat & Heavy.
Brother & Why Go are standouts for me
Hail Hail, PushMePullMe, and Faithfull are good ones too0 -

Ditto.Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.0 -
My favorite is definately why go. They played that song sooooo well this past tour, especially jeffs intro mith matts drumming. Inside job's bassline is a complete standout, you wouldn't think a song like that would have such a melodic bass line but it does.5/28/06, 6/27/08, 10/28/09, 5/18/10, 5/21/10
