To the guy who said the Dead and Phish - really? You don't like them (given) but "worst ever"? C'mon now. They have more talent in their pinkies than most bands you will see listed here.

You can't think of 10 bands EVER that are worse than Sigur Ros? Really?! come ON! :p

...and me Jez, they're pretty high on my 'bad' list too...above Queen anyways :p
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....
  • Huh? Most of my list are very well respected, yet shit, bands.. who have 'actually left an impact on the art of music'.

Who says i was specifically pointing you out? I was making a generalization, obviously in any generalization there will be outliers...calm down, it's going to be okay.

and in my defense of my picks

jack johnson has been around for 7 years now releasing the same album over and over again, and he consistently gets good press.

Gnarls Barkley - danger mouse is hailed as a genious and has done a lot for indie music, but i find him uninteresting

Him- turned metal into something that tweens can enjoy

Battles - hailed as 'math rock' geniouses, but they have no substance behind them.

and i'm not sure why me calling out these bands makes you think i'm trying to ride a high horse. These are bands that are out there for anyone to listen to, i don't enjoy them, but others do.

I just don't think we need to point out the obvious by saying nickleback, creed, and maroon 5 in 30 different posts.

so again...just relax...don't take things so personally

Nothing taken personally mate and sorry if I came on too strong. Sometimes I debate with a mallet rather than a feather. :)

That said, I think that 'the worst bands in the world ever' DO tend to be obvious and famous most of the time, as they are loved and HATED in equal measure. The people who hate them can't see why in the hell they have fanbase they do and that provokes the reaction.

Well, after seeing a couple of people list Queen, I figured that this was more about who you really didn't like as opposed to talent.

I don't question their talent at all, I just have issues with that whole scene and they seem to always be at the top of the list. I think a great band should have a quality catalog of studio work and not rely solely on their live shows. Granted, the Dead and Phish have some decent songs, but looking at their body of work as a whole it's pretty poor.

And I have a huge issue with expecting your fans to have to trip on their favorite drug while you play a 20-minute version of every song just so they can "get it'.

Say what you want about their stage antics, commercialism and so on, but they have influenced an entire generation of musicians.

Battles???? Sigur Ros???? Tegan and Sara????

I can accept the fact that you might not like them - but to suggest they are the worst bands ever is completely ridiculous

    my votes would go to:

    Nickelback
    Limp Bizkit
    Hinder
    3 Days Grace
    Theory Of A Deadman
    Creed
    Live
    Everclear
    Bush
    Simple Plan

    Excellent.

    Here's my list:-

    1. Cheeky Girls (touch their bums)
    2. Black Lace (famous for Superman)
    3. Nsync (anything Justin Timberlake related)
    4. S Club 7
    5. Steps
    6. Boyzone (or are they the Chippendales)
    7. Rick Astley
    8. Any Stock Aiken Waterman
    9. Cheezy pop acts
    10. Anything produced by Timberland

I don't know why poor old Nickleback is getting bad press around here.

  • Grateful Dead
    Phish
    Creed
    Nickelback
    Trixter
    Jackyl
    Nelson
    Good Charlotte
    Fall Out Boy
    Winger

The Grateful Dead is an AMAZING band. So much of their work is far more musically complex the the rest of the similar hippie music and Jerry Garcia is one of the more underrated guitarists ever

My worst ten goes like this - in no particular order as I think they are equally awful.

    Creed
    Nickelback
    My Chemical Romance
    Good Charlotte
    Coldplay
    Beastie Boys
    Fallout Boy
    All American Retards
    Kiss
    Simple Plan

I may get some criticism because i realize a lot of people really like Coldplay and the Beastie Boys but i have never for the life of me been able to understand why.

Ok, there's your answer. It kinda bugs/amuses me when people hate on Phish because of the 'scene'. There's some AMAZING music to discover there....who cares if some of the fans are deadbeat hippies? I've met some really cool people at Phish shows. Completely normal, intelligent fans who can actually finish a sentence.

And your last paragraph is just wrong. The drugs and the 'scene' are part of the reason Phish broke up. They didn't play for those on drugs, they just played their deal and people got swept up in it. With Phish, you do NOT need drugs to 'get' it. Trust me, I know. Get over it and give them an honest listen...you might be surprised. Don't worry about any sort of scene...that was way overplayed by outsiders.

The list in the link i the original post is good...I hate all those bands. Except Jethro Tull...I'm just indifferent to them.

    My list:
    AC/DC
Metallica (so I like a few of those older songs, but other than that I don't get it...)
ICP (hobbible music and I hate Juggalos)
    Limp Bizkit
    Linkin Park
    Kid Rock
    Nickelback
Buckcherry (horrible, and one of my best friends favorite bands, and whenever we hit the local bars he plays this crap on the jukebox....so embarrassing...)
Jonas Brothers (I really dont know anything about these kids except teenies love them and that cover of Hello Goodbye on that commercial is soooooo gay.)
last, any of these new "heavy" bands with girls trying to scream...
