  • crazy that its been that long!

    paul simon put it best:

    "I met my old lover
    On the street last night
She seemed so glad to see me
    I just smiled
And we talked about some old times
And we drank ourselves some beers
Still crazy afler all these years
Oh, still crazy after all these years

Im not the kind of man
    Who tends to socialize
    I seem to lean on
    Old familiar ways
And I aint no fool for love songs
    That whisper in my ears
Still crazy afler all these years
Oh, still crazy after all these years

    Four in the morning
    Crapped out, yawning
    Longing my life a--way
    Ill never worry
    Why should i?
    Its all gonna fade

Now I sit by my window
    And I watch the cars
I fear Ill do some damage
    One fine day
But I would not be convicted
By a jury of my peers
Still crazy after all these years
    Oh, still crazy
    Still crazy
Still crazy after all these years"

like a fine wine... it only gets better with age :D

my eyes peeled both wide open, and i got a glimpse
of my innocence... got back my inner sense...
  • Ten years ago today I left my Art of Film class early so I could get to CD Warehouse right when the doors opened at 10:00 am so I could get what would become the best PJ album ever made. I met my future wife a month later on the same block. Great times.
  • What do you know, I listened to Yield today (yesterday) for the first time in a while. Didn't even realize that it was its anniversary. Happy tenth!
  • Happy Birthday Yield!!:)

  • I'm not gonna say happy birthday to an inanimate object.. sorry. Even though I do love you, Yield. I really do. You complete me.

I remember buying this bad boy at a midnight sale the night before the release date. I miss those midnight sales, damn internet! ;)

    Dude!

Did you stand in line outside CD Warehouse on Apalachee Pkwy to get it at midnight?

I was just telling my wife that story yesterday as we celebrated YIELD's 10th birthday.

Kinda nerdy, huh? But I'd still go to a midnight sale for Pearl Jam, even in this day of downloadable music. Wouldn't you?

  • Unfortunately, YIELD could not be here today to accept the warm wishes and the presents. Accepting on YIELD's behalf is JamilyMan. On behalf of YIELD, a hearty Thank You to all of you!!!

    Thanks
    JamilyMan
For those who scoff at "Jamily" in my name... 9 years ago, when my first daughter was born there were jokes about whether my priority would be my family or PJ. I smiled and quipped "I am a JamilyMan." What was a family joke became a hated term among jammers. Didn't see that one coming!
  • 10 years fly by pretty quickly huh. Funny, been meaning to find myself a new copy to replace my scratched-to-fuck one for a while - guess the time is right...

p.s. 10 years and GTF *still* gets me up outta my chair and dancing everytime I hear it (kinda embarassing sometimes...)
