Any fans here? Post your favourite musicians/bands, I'm always on the look out for stuff I haven't heard and I'm worried I'm going to wear out my Clancy Brothers records if I'm not careful

Most of the songs posted so far have been recorded by hundreds of different musicians.
Well all you said was "irish folk music." And Damien Rice certainly qualifies. But that's cool.
Then again definitions change with the times and for the sake of ease people are always going to label singer-songwriter type musicians as "folk" musicians. I should have clarified.

And recently downloaded several Christy Moore tunes....great stuff.
The Clancy Bros. Christmas album is probably my favorite Christmas album. I can listen to it over and over again.

Clannad? Do they count? Probably not as they aren't traditional Irish but I love their stuff.

ever hear of a guy called freddie white? not so much folk but the guy is unreal! plays a few folk songs in his sets too
