Would someone be so kind to tell me a bit about Phil Ochs?

I don't think I've ever heard one of his songs and I'm not too familiar with him. The only thing I really know about him is that he was kind of Dylan's rival in the 60's, so I assume he's a folk/protest singer. But that's all I really know. What is his best studio album (And I don't mean a greatest hits album, I very much dislike compilations).
