People Who Died...is the only version of that on Alabama Ass Whuppin'?

    PBM

It's on their DVD "Live at the 40 Watt" as well. That's definitely one of the best cover songs I've ever heard. I f**kin' LOVE this band! The Dirty South is amazing from beginning to end. Not a single dud on the entire thing. But I do have a few personal faves:

    Where the Devil Don't Stay
    Tornadoes
    Puttin' People on the Moon
    Danko/Manuel
    Daddy's Cup
    Never Gonna Change
    Lookout Mountain
    Goddamn Lonely Love

Just got finished watching Tres Tangled Truckers from the Poor House in December, great show. Jason Isbell, Kevn Kinney, and Katlin Kerry kicked ass for about two hours. A friend got it in the mail somehow, but Jason plays alot of his newer stuff ...... Daylight, Whisper and a few more.

Jason Ross from 7M3 came out to play Southwestern State too .... really cool stuff

    From Nine Bullets:

Patterson, Cooley, and Brad were joined by Dave Schools on bass and John Neff on guitar for a set of Rolling Stones covers. Here's what they played...

    Loving Cup - Hood
    Silver Train - Schools
    Starfucker - Hood
Before They Make Me Run - Cooley
    Moonlight Mile - Hood
    Shattered - Hood

i don't think anyone has shown any love for the buford cup, carl perkins' cadillac, or the day john henry died but then again, on an album this badass it's easy for a few good ones to fall between the cracks.

I picked this album up, and gave it a listen and nothing seemed to stand out for me. Only on first listen. I like the sound they have for sure, and hope I can get into it more. But what are some of the key tracks?

    [Pissbottleman???]

The Day John Henry Died and Lookout Mountain stand out when I listen to the album. However, I love every song. It's complete from beginning to end.

I saw them live last summer at the Baltimore Art Festival for free. They flat out rocked!!!

Before I saw them I bought their live DVD on a whim having heard nothing from them. It kicked ass.

Decoration Day and Southern Rock Opera are great albums too.

Every time I listen to them I get a craving for bourbon. Elijah Craig on the rocks, to be exact.

Just today my copy of Dirty South started skipping on the powerful closing section of Never Gonna Change, Lookout Mountain and Goddamn Lonely Love.

It is less awful because I copied the CD to my computer long ago and just burn another copy...

PBW and I went to Atlanta this past weekend. While going through Chattanooga, we passed Lookout Mountain.

    That fired my ass up.

Why are their cd's so expensive? The cheapest I've seen it is $22, and I was just at a music store buying a couple cd's and saw that one for $26 - The Dirty South that is

I so badly want to listen to it, but no way can I allow myself to pay more than $30 with tax...just craziness

Thats fucked up, everywhere I have seen them they have been right in line with the rest of the stuff in the store.

    Maybe try Ebay, or half.com

Ok, I gave this album quite a few tries. But I just can't get into to it. And I'm not trying to take anything away from the band, they are good, it's just not my cup o' tea. Maybe a different album?

There are some good tracks on it for sure, but overall, eh.

    [sorry it took so long]
Are you too good to tango with the poor poor boys?
