  • Breakdown - Jack Johnson
Bring It On Home - Willie Dixon / Led Zeppelin.
I was taught a month ago to bide my time and take it slow, but then I learned just yesterday to rush and never waste a day. Now I'm convinced the whole day long that all I've learned is always wrong. Things are true that I forget, but no one taught that to me yet

    Train Song- Nick Cave

This is the B-side (and a damn good song) to the Ship Song single, which Pearl Jam covered at Red Rock in 1995.

The performance of this from the Albert Hall performance (1969) is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. Who wrote it originally anyway.. ?

Not really... Ed murdered it for about 45 seconds till he realized he didn't know it :p

Good choice though, and I loooooove the Ship Song.

All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

Hendrix himself, incredible song. There's an accoustic video of this somewhere on youtube, great stuff.

Excellent choice, but I prefer The Legend of John Henry's Hammer from the Folsom concert.

The Tennessee Two and John basically turned their instruments into a locomotive!

    Land Of Hopes And Dreams
    Video
Grab your ticket and your suitcase
    Thunder's rolling down the tracks
You don't know where you're goin'
But you know you won't be back
    Darlin' if you're weary
Lay your head upon my chest
We'll take what we can carry
    And we'll leave the rest

    Big Wheels rolling through fields
    Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams

    I will provide for you
And I'll stand by your side
You'll need a good companion for
    This part of the ride
    Leave behind your sorrows
Let this day be the last
    Tomorrow there'll be sunshine
    And all this darkness past

    Big wheels roll through fields
    Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams

    This train
    Carries saints and sinners
    This train
    Carries losers and winners
    This Train
    Carries whores and gamblers
    This Train
    Carries lost souls
    This Train
    Dreams will not be thwarted
    This Train
    Faith will be rewarded
    This Train
    Hear the steel wheels singin'
    This Train
    Bells of freedom ringin'
    This Train
    Carries broken-hearted
    This Train
    Thieves and sweet souls departed
    This Train
    Carries fools and kings
    This Train
    All aboard

    This Train
    Dreams will not be thwarted
    This Train
    Faith will be rewarded
    This Train
    Hear the steel wheels singin'
    This Train
    Bells of freedom ringin'
For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive
