he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
eager to identify with
someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way
Train ~ Leo sayer.
Train - The sisters of mercy
The Train song - Nick cave
Excuse Me - Wreckless Eric
Excuse me staring - we catch the same train
We've never spoken I wonder if we may
From Wandsworth Town on the Waterloo line
Via Clapham Junction on the eight fifty-nine
May I tell you that I think you're lovely
Purchasing your ticket as I stare discreetly by the barrier
Where do you work
What do you do there
What's your name
We're in Waterloo now
Where you march up the platform
In military style
In the rhythm that the train made
My heavenly choir
I Will tell you that I think you're lovely
Surrendering your ticket as I say so long at the exit sign
Sorrowful parting
You take the Bakerloo southbound
My trip on the northbound
Is something of a comedown
Sweet girl on the train
Do you fancy me
If you like me
You can commute with me
and they all eat rainbows and pooh butterflies!
I had something going mister in this world
I got laid off down at the lumber yard
Our love went bad, times got hard
Now I work down at the carwash
Where all it ever does is rain
Don't you feel like you're a rider on a downbound train
She just said "Joe I gotta go
We had it once we ain't got it any more"
She packed her bags left me behind
She bought a ticket on the Central Line
Nights as I sleep, I hear that whistle whining
I feel her kiss in the misty rain
And I feel like I'm a rider on a downbound train
Last night I heard your voice
You were crying, crying, you were so alone
You said your love had never died
You were waiting for me at home
Put on my jacket, I ran through the woods
I ran till I thought my chest would explode
There in the clearing, beyond the highway
In the moonlight, our wedding house shone
I rushed through the yard, I burst through the front door
My head pounding hard, up the stairs I climbed
The room was dark, our bed was empty
Then I heard that long whistle whine
And I dropped to my knees, hung my head and cried
Now I swing a sledge hammer on a railroad gang
Knocking down them cross ties, working in the rain
Now don't it feel like you're a rider on a downbound train
Life is like a mountain railroad
With an engineer that's brave
We must make the run successful
From the cradle to the grave
Watch the curves, the fills, and tunnels
Never falter, never fail
Keep your hand upon the throttle
And your eyes upon the rail
Blessed Savior, Thou will guide us
Till we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In that Great forevermore
Blessed Savior, Thou will guide us
Till we reach that blissful shore
Where the angels wait to join us
In that Great forevermore
Yeah, I know it's corny and way more "hallelujah lordy" than I usually go for, but it's a beautiful song, beautifully sung, and I just love it.

Smokin long black Cadillac, the engine's windin down
He'd park it up on the sidewalk like he owned the whole damn town
I'd here him talkin to some chick through a thick ghost of smoke
Through a thicker haze of southern comfort and coke
He'd say girl you're hotter than the hinges hangin off the gates of hell
Don't be afraid, to turn to me, babe if a he don't treat you well
And by he, he meant me so I laughed and I shook his hand
He'd laugh a little bit louder as he'd yell up at the band
Play a train song pour me one more round
Make 'em leave my boots when they lay me into the ground
I am a runaway locomotive out of my one track mind
And I'm a looking for any kind of trouble that I can find
I got this old black leather jacket, I got this pack of Marlboro Reds
I got this stash here in my pocket, I got these thoughts in my own head
I got to run until I got to walk or until I've got to crawl
This moment that I'm in right now and nothin else at all
Play a train song pour me one more round
Make 'em leave my boots when they lay me into the ground
I am a runaway locomotive out of my one track mind
And the television blizzard lights we looked around his place
We found him cold there on the sofa a little smile across his face
And though I tried with all of my sadness somehow, I just a could not weep
For a man who looked to me like he died laughin in his sleep
Singin a train song, drinkin him one last round
We made em leave his boots on, on the day they laid him down
He was a runaway locomotive out of his one track mind
Play a train song
Play a train song
Play a train song
Train Keep A Rollin'~covered by many a band, including Aerosmith.

Only yesterday, you lied
Promises of what I seemed to be
Only watched the time go by
All of these things you said to me"

Its more the video for this song that does it, it reminds me of catching the train to uni in my younger days, kinda of a feel good summer vibe about it too, good memories.

thats the bugger!
The clouds started forming at five o'clock pm
The funnel clouds touched down
five miles north of Russellville
Sirens were blowing, clouds spat rain
and as the things came threw, it sounded like a train
"It came without no warning" said Bobbi Jo McLean
She and husband Nolen always loved to watch the rain
It sucked him out the window, he ain't come home again
All she can remember is "It sounded like a train"
Pieces of that truck stop, litter up the highway, I been told
And I hear that missing trucker ended up in Kansas
(or maybe it was Oz).
The Nightmare Tour ended for my band and me
the night all the shit went down
A homecoming concert, the night the tornadoes hit my hometown.
The few who braved the weather were sucked out of the auditorium
I can still remember the sound of their applause in the rain
as it echoed through them storm clouds, I swear, It sounded like a train.
Oh yeah you!!!!!!
Long Black Train-Josh Turner
