I just started listening to Wilco. I love a couple of their songs and wondered what some of your favorites of theirs are. I really like Handshake Drugs

I like Handshake Drugs also.
Tough to pick just 1. Ashes of American Flags, Via Chicago, Jesus Etc.Skeletons ain't got nowhere to stick their money.0 -
This is a strange choice, but at the moment I want to go with "Shouldn't Be Ashamed."
It's not as graceful or sophisticated as anything from the more popular albums, but for whatever reason I simply love listening that one. I honestly can't name one definitive favorite Wilco song, so I'll go with an underdog.;)
I really love "Pick Up the Change," "Should've Been In Love" and "Too Far Apart" as well, now that I think about it. A.M. deserves more attention that it normally receives.0 -
Impossible.....
i don't know if i could pick one.
i do like jesus etc a lot though.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -

The Late Greats“Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you’ve got about a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’” - Kurt Vonnegut0

A few of my faves:
I'm the man who loves you
Handshake drugs
Via Chicago (especially after seeing and hearing it live)
Heavy Metal Drummer
Either way
Casino queen
Jesus etc
You are my face
those are all great songs and probably the ones that got me into Wilco.
I think I like their yankee hotel foxtrot album the best.PJ: 10/14/00 06/09/03 10/4/09 11/15/13 11/16/13 10/08/14

Too hard to pick only one song, but my wife's favorite is Hummingbird.
I could narrow it down to one from each album:
The Late Greats
Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway (Again)
I Got You (At the End of the Century)
Casino Queen
Hate It Here
I'm the Man Who Loves You
But I'm still not sure that is sufficient.
Welcome to the Message Pit Wilco enthusiast crew! There's quite a few of us around here.

My favorite Wilco song is Misunderstood.
"There's something there that you can't find
Honest when you're telling a lie
You hurt but you don't why,
You love her but you don't know why"Surreal Art that Entices the Mind

This song is incredible live! The part where Glen goes wild on the drums right over Tweedy's singing is so powerful. You feel like you're in a thunderstorm or war zone or something.
I might have to go with Via Chicago, Theologians, Hummingbird, Jesus Etc..., You are My Face, and many many more I can't think of now.Obama/Biden '08!!!0 -
Jesus etcgot a car...got some gas...oh let's get out of here-get out of here fast...
I hope you get this message but your not home...I will be there in just a minute or so...
I want to go but I want to go with you.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. -MT
I've had enough, said enough, felt enough. I'm fine, still in it.0 -

I'm seeing Wilco for the first time tomorrow night and I cannot wait."I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike
"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone
"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV0
