    Happy 18th Anniversary fellas!!!

The greatest thing about this long career is the unlimited amount of bootlegs you can find through the years.

I just discovered a sweet little show from March 9th, 1994 in Pensacola; a benefit concert for 'The Rock of Choice' charity. The setlist is short compared to other PJ shows but the songs were amazing. I think Dave A had a lot to do with that.

They started off the show really hard with Go as the opener. Animal and SOLAT just kicks ass, and also the little tag of the Police's Every Breath You Take in Black was just magical.

Eddie was quite hilarious as a jokester. My favorite part was when he talked about Mike being born in Pensacola, and when he were roommates in the beginning of the band's stages. He said something to this phrase "He used to sit on the edge of the bed and mumble to myself....and later I realized he was thanking God he got out of Pensacola."

That's the great thing about this awesome band, there are so many good concerts they've left behind that you can discover and enjoy it as if you were there live.

Cheers to the greatest live band EVER!

This is the date that most people will associate with the birth of our boys! I have watched or listened to this show countless times over the years, and it still amazes me what came out of it.....One of the most influential bands of our generation and of all time!! Hard to believe watching this show, that they would become so explosive....so in tune with one another....Just seem so reserved and nervous for the most part. 18 years...hundred of shows....hundreds of boots...hundreds of memories....new friends.....old songs.....A life long passion...THANK YOU!!!

    Happy Birthday!!! :D
awwww....that summary gave me chills. :)

  • I remember when I turned 18. Bought my first legal pack of smokes, I had been smoking since i was 15 but the first pack purchased legally was nice. Also bought a copy of Swank magazine. Then went out and got drunk. Pearl Jam you have provided me so many great memories over the years, thank you so much and I hope your 18th b-day is as fun as mine was.

did pj open for some other local band that first show? i've always kinda wondered that, but never bothered to look for the answer. just seems like a really short set (and plus it's their first show) to be a headliner, even at a very small club.

Here are the notes from TWOFEETTHICK....

10/22/90 - Off Ramp Cafe: Seattle, WA (Mookie Blaylock) [45m]
    attendance: 299
supporting: Inspector Luv and the Ride Me Babies (who later became Green Apple Quickstep), Bathtub Gin
    soundcheck: Even Flow
set: Release, Alone, Alive, Once, Even Flow, Black, Breath
    enc: Girl
notes: In the first week after their initial meeting, the members of the band that will become Pearl Jam play this show as "Mookie Blaylock." Jeff steps off the small stage to wander in the crowd a bit while playing during the soundcheck. 'Even Flow' is a very unusual, slow version. In fact, most of these songs sound very different and are slower versions, with 'Release,' 'Once' and 'Black' sporting different/early lyrics. 'Girl' hasn't appeared on a setlist since this show.
