Almost looks like it might be which makes me happy as all hell.

This situation, what side are you on?
Are you dropping bombs, are you getting out?
Have you heard diplomatic resolve? Yeah

Precipitation, which side are you on?
Are you drying up, are you a big drop?
Are you a part of fool detrimental?

sound like ed or whoever wrote the song is refering to the war in iraq, and pulling out the troops. And he is asking, what side are you on, and that instead of bombs maybe diplomacy would work better.

Do you think its a antiwar tune from the days of Bush, or do you think its a pointed jab at our current commander in chief who seems as hell bent on sending troops to die as our previous fearless leader was

also I love that the song is suggesting that the solution to the worlds ills is a good rock song.

    Couldnt agree more, actually.

Given your suggestion is correct (just might be), I wonder why he wasn't asking those questions of Obama before the election? It was pretty clear Obama didn't have any plans to pull out in the immediate future.
I would love to see Ed stop towing the dem party line like he's been doing the past two election cycles.
Using the word "methinks" in your message board posts doesn't make you look smart.

Yes, I definitely like Ed the idealist better, when he endorsed Nader. I think he realized what influence he had on the 2000 election though-- after all, they did tour, and he pushed Nader quite a bit, who arguably took more votes away from Gore than W.-- no need to explain the chain of events that happened after W. came in. Unfortunately, this made him a firm believer in voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I think after 4 - 8 years of Obama disappointment, he'll be back to pushing a 3rd party candidate, unless Jeb Bush or Sarah Palin runs
