ive considered buying the ones i like so i can scan them and blow them up to the same proportions as the real ones i cant afford... strictly for my personal use of course... i have the book, but to get a good scan youd need it cut out...
besides, if someones willing to buy expensive books and cut them up and there are others willing to buy those cut outs... then all power to them! provided they dont mislead people to think they are the real poster
if you noticed those have been on ebay for a long time. I get fooled by one every few weeks are so. I go to ebay and search for 1998 st. louis. It comes up to only be a mini. I once saw one have 3 bids on it for somewhere around 45.00 I thought at that point it was the real thing, but then there was a * saying it was a mini.
My guess was someone had the live on two legs poster with all of the prints on it. They cut that up and scanned it. Mind you that is only a guess though.
If anyone has a st. louis 98 I would be interested.
i fucking hate ebay. What a shit hole, its not even useful. Ebay is exactly what humans are, retarded and greedy.
Yes, it is kind of stupid that someone is selling these. Hopefully, no one is dumb enough to buy them....
ug.... "ebay isn't evil, people are"
I found some great gems and bargins through ebay SELLERS... also, if you have excess crap to sell around the house, ebay and craigslist best way to go...

Why does it bother you so much? I think it is actually kind of smart (it is not like anyone is being defrauded, all the ones I see say "mini" right in the main description), and if people want something that will make them happy why not give it to them, rather than making them buy the whole book (or pay $100's of dollars for a full sized poster) just to get one poster they might want. Plus someone doing this could probably make enough to buy the limited edition book, if they bought the regular one and sold all of the posters out of it.

I havnt had the same luck i guess.... and ebay is people, so that quote is kind of useless :P But everytime ive shopped ebay, prices tend to be higher than retail most of the time. Thus being completely worthless in my book. The only thing that i have that sells well on ebay is posters, and theres no way in hell im letting my babies go
and to answer the last poster's question, i just dont like it. I have no appreciation for it. I guess it pisses me off because im sure those pages go for a pretty good deal of moolah.... and that i find annoying. Its not even a book, its pages of a book. Does anyone know the exact number of pages in the book? id be curious to see how much the break down is, $ amount per page.

Do you feel the same way about the classified section in your newspaper. I actually like ebay since you find things that, unless you lived in a big city, you probably wouldn't ever be able to find locally. Plus it is not like ebay invented the concept of the auction. It looked to me like the pages were going for between 5-10 bucks each, not that much cash to me, compared to the full size posters. Plus the book is still for sale in the tenclub goods section, so it is not like someone is cutting up the last known copy of the book and selling it in pieces.

Your welcome to love it all you want, its just not my cup of tea
with all these mini posters being sold on the bay. Are these from the ames book? And who in there right mind would but these?
they are cut from the book: 'The Art of Modern Rock' which came out 3 or so years ago. Definitely it's a case of buyer beware, although I can't fathom anyone with have a mind actually buying these...but it happens.

Really? It seems pretty obvious to me why someone would do that. The mini '98 Dallas poster is going for under ten bucks while the full sized version sells for around $400.

You hate ebay because people are selling mini pearl jam posters? That makes a ton of sense. Without ebay it would be virtually impossible to buy old posters you were looking for. Same for old vinyls and a shitload of other stuff. And how are selling these mini-posters greedy??? It's not like they claim to be selling authentic repros. Worry about something important, not what people sell on ebay.
Not selling them on ebay, but cutting them out of the book. I'd love to have a wall full of Pearl Jam posters, but the originals would be much too large and expensive. Does anyone have the book? are the pages easy to cut out? and are they double sided?
And does anyone know where I can get a few hundred frames for cheap?????
Ebay is strange, I like it because I have easy access to things I may not have been able to find, and because I can get rid of stuff I no longer need or want and get cash instead of just throwing stuff away
BUT
Ebay has turned your average joe into a flipper and a scalper and that has made it a lot harder to get tickets and other limited items
