I don't know if anyone is into them of not but they have a new album coming out and some shows as well. I only see one in NYC and I think all others are in Canada. I grabbed tickets for myself for NYC such a great band live. If you haven't seen them I would recommend it.
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

I second that - I saw them in Baton Rouge on their Spiritual Machines tour, and they put on a great show. I'd love to see them live again, just to hear Wipe That Smile Off Your Face - that song is wickedly good.

This is war, and I'm gonna wipe that smile off your face...
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

Me too! Got my full festival pass and ready to go. :) Extremely excited for OLP as well. They've always been intriguing to me, although their last couple albums have been mediocre compared to their pre-Gravity work. Gravity and Healthy in Paranoid Times are decent albums, to be fair, but the songs lack that mysterious quality found in older material. Raine doesn't come across as passionate about the new stuff either, although hopefully this new album is a return to that intense, grittier sound.

As a sidenote, Raine's spoken word album, The Hunter's Lullaby, is pure genius. I had the good fortune to see him at a very intimate venue in Ottawa last year and he blew away all my expectations. As far as I remember, his 'band' that night consisted of his wife Chantal on piano and backup vocals, a cellist and possibly a bassist, while he played acoustic guitar. Very minimalist and soooo different from OLP.

I used to LOVE Our Lady Peace, I''ve seen them 6 times, even got to meet them a couple times. I think they took a turn for the worse after Spiritual Machines when they fired Mike Turner. Their last album was by far their worst, and from what I've heard of this new one it doesn't sound much better. I'll still go see them because they still put on a hell of a show, but I wish they would have kept being an alternative band and not a commercial pop band like they went for with Bob Rock. I mean Bob Rock told them in their first Gravity session that Jeremy needed to 'cool it' on the drums and Raine needed to stick to more basic vocals. Jeremy's drumming and Raine's falsetto were the best parts of the band IMO.

thunderDAN is right on the money with his comments. The new song "Monkey Brains" however has the classic OLP feel, but the single sucks.
