Do you think guys should shave or wax down there?

by Joanna Douglas,
Shine Staff

For decades women have been shaving, waxing and Nairing their bikini line, and during the "Sex and the City" era, some of that grooming pressure was transferred to men. Well, the people at Gillette have declared ball shaving season, and even launched a series of instructional videos including "How to Shave Your Groin."

Sure, women may like the look and feel of a less hairy man, but Gillette lets guys in on another advantage: "trimming the bush to make the tree look taller." This line is guaranteed to work on guys: if they can make themselves look more endowed just by shaving, why not give it a try?

Now for the real question: do we really like our men shaved? Sure, some regular maintenance is appreciated, but do we need our guys hairless? Would it be strange for a guy to have less hair down there than we do?

Don't be shy! Share your experiences with men shaved and unshaved and tell us your preference.

    i've always loved that line.
hysterical, and absolutely golden to work on men and their...egos.

that said, not too be too blunt.....i like very well-groomed. WELL-groomed. male or female. i do not like completely hairless, on either gender quite honestly, tho do have a higher preference for a LOT less hair on women than men in general - and specifically for this grooming area, but yes...men too need to GROOM. WELL. :D

    this equate to:
    women - shave, wax, laser....whatever.....
men - shave face, scissors, well-done, for other grooming essentials.

    thank you.
    :)

Trimming is a good thing. No need to take it all off...and stubble is a very bad thing.

Yeah I know a lot of guys dig the bald look. I don't know a lot of women that dig it on men, though. I don't really see the appeal.

Let's face it. I probably speak for a lot of ladies when I say my interest in the penis is not aesthetic. It's al about the function.

I agree. And my philosophy has always been 1) if I expect her to keep things maintained, I owe her the same consideration because 2) nobody likes going to work down there and coming up with a mouthful of fur that'd make your cat sympathetic.

whoa...what's this pubic hair talk? :o I thought i was on the alt board at first.

I appreciated people who trim up their situation. Nothing extreme.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

I like the line from bullet proof "you can tell this porno is from the 70s cause his dick has sideburns"

Personally I keep myself trimmed. The last girl I was with was a little hairy for my liking.

    trimmed - yes
    shaved - no

i made that mistake during my youth experimenting and it was an itchy couple weeks

dont think the ladies should go completely hairless either... maybe just a nice shaved lightning bolt 8-)

glad this conversation is happening... its not one of those things that youre gonna bring up in most sexy situations but obviously its a concern for both sides... if we were all more open with our sexual preferences we couldve killed off the handjob a long time ago

surprised this hasnt been locked down yet... ha
