    It is possible that this is the "ballad" that is in the middle of the new CD (according to that NME review) ...

    he played it in montreal, too. all i remember about it was that it sounded unfinished, like it needed a full band. it didn't sound like a just-ed-and-an-acoustic-guitar kinda thing.

    I don't think it will be on the new album, but that is just my opinion. I do like it though, but since I've already heard it, I hope it's not on the new disc.

    It was a pretty good new song when he played it in Newark- you could tell it was still a work in progress like he said.

    i'd love to hear a polished, drenched-with-strings, brendan o'brien-ized version of that.
    i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

    yes I think that would be nice...but for such an upbeat...semi positive album...would this fit?

    sure, for balance.

    and i'm not sure how upbeat and positive the record will be. it will probably be more so than the last one, but there's still an awful to be pissed about and disapointed in.
