So I'm 100 meters from home after a 3hr shopping session...

And I get rear ended.
Brand new car, 1 year old, now I need to have it repaired, it's spoiled a perfect morning for me.
Some people simply cannot pay attention whilst driving. :x :x :x
Thankfully the car isn't that bad, I was expecting it to be worse, dinted and cracked in certain areas, the guy was in a 4WD and his bullbar hit me, so the impact is high up the back where the hatch is.

The shit thing is I was waiting to turn into a service station to get a free Twix bar I won (1 in 6 wins lol) and this happens, that chocolate cost me. I never claimed it was too pissed off.
The insurance will cover me, they agree I'm not at fault, the other guy is a probationary driver, inexperienced obviously and he is not insured.

Dammit! :x

    Well then you make that kid pay for it. If it is his fault then he should pay. You will have to fork out the excess on your insurance. You shouldn't be out of pocket if it is not your fault.

    All this talk about twix is making me hungry.

    If it makes you feel any better, about 3 years ago I had to work a whole ton on my Birthday. I was tired, but had enough time to get a bite with my sister at a restaurant before heading back to work. At about 9pm as I'm 200 feet away from my store, someone runs a red light and smashes the hell out of my car. A new-to-me car I just bought. After the police took my report and my car was towed away, I walked the 200 feet from the accident site back to work to finish working thru midnight on my birthday. Then when I was done working at midnight I walked a mile, thru a graveyard, in 100% pitch black to get home.

    ...so cheer the fuck up! Free twix bar!! :lol:

    It really sucks, but it could have been so much worse. This year my friend got head-on hit, got a broken neck (but luckily is recovering, walks and everything) and could have died, I hit a deer and got lucky too - no injuries but the car was damaged bad, AND I watched someone today coming toward me veering into my lane - as I got closer I saw their head was down. I think they were fucking TEXTING. So I am sorry you got hit, but think what you escaped, too. Things can be fixed or replaced, but people can't.

    The damage is barley noticeable which is good, it could have been much worse.
    My rear end could have easily have been pushed in very bad, and the $300 worth of goods in the boot I bought could have been ruined.
    Anyhow, I got my free Twix bar today lol
    As CJMST3K, nothing is free, that Twix bar cost me a visit to the panel beaters.
