So I've broken out binaural lately, once the summer comes Pearl Jam just always feels right in the car. I've come to the conclusion that Parting Ways is so underrated, and is pretty much just a perfect song. It's so simple, yet so genius at the same time. Plus if anyone has ever been a serious relationship that ended, it pretty much sums up that feeling perfectly. Just wanted to give a deserving song a shout out.

    I particularly love the version from All Tomorrow's Parties, March 2002, Royce Hall, UCLA.

    That's the one where he brought out the guy with his violin to accompany him on the song. It was just EV on that big fat red electric guitar and the violin. To me, that really bumped the heartfelt emotion of the song. Gorgeious version...highly recommend it, if you have not had the pleasure yet.

    The lucky dude was a student, maybe high school age or jr college looking. Ed said he met him off the coast while surfing, found out they both played 4 stringed instruments. They practiced after school. Lucky duck!

    Hey, I agree with what you said about PJ and summer! PJ is best with the windows open and cranked and at night on my deck with a case of beer!

    Grabbed my Cincy boot and its not listed. Didn't think I remembered it from the show. Why did you point out the show as infamous? Sarcasm? Before I went, I saw the setlist from the night before ( Pittsburgh ) and I remember thinking their setlist was better than the Cincy show, but I'm glad I was able to go.

    Broke out the vinyl today - love this song a lot.
    I've seen it 2 time of the 24 played and the first time it was played at Auburn Hill 2000.  Not played often, but a spectacular gem for sure!!!

    My white whale for sure. Missed it by one show in Toronto in 2016. It is a damn crime this song is not played more.
