Has anyone here ever worked for Sephora?

I'm considering taking a part-time job there, and I just would like to know what to expect. I know there are definitely some ladies who shop there around here, but I just wondered if anyone has ever worked for them. I know the training is intense but it sounds pretty cool and I'm kind of excited about it.

I have not worked there, but I shop there if I'm in NYC. Its a nice store.

I shop there all the time but no I never worked for them. I did here that they have a pretty intense training program. I wonder if employees get discounts on the products.

i'm a guy and have never been there but....my ex had a gay friend that worked there. He loved it and said it paid really well. I know he was going into being a dermatologist and what not and loved it so take it for what it's worth.

My best friend worked for them for a few years. She loved it but ended up getting hurt on the job. Both of her sisters worked for them after her. Yes, very intense training but well worth it. I believe she got maybe a 20% discount. I think they are way over priced. I prefer to use Ebay for those products but would have never started using some of the products I use today if not for her. she also got alot of gratis. I would go for it.

Well, I took it! It'll be a little bit like an alcoholic going to work in a bar, but at least I'm getting paid more than I expected.

I had a friend who worked there for 4-5 years... she liked it but quit when they wouldn't transfer her to another store when she moved.

Yes, they do get discounts!

tho i will say, if your analogy is at all correct...perhaps it wasn't the wisest of moves if you actually want to take home some of your paycheck? haha.


i'll tell ya, my last 2 retail jobs, crate & barrel and smith & hawken, i think when the smoke cleared.....i probably earned nothing. :P it can absolutely be almost TOO tempting with your discount, + sales, + just crazy-amazing deals at times that you'd not be exposed to if you weren't an employee. that said, somehow i must've managed to take home some $$$....and sure, sooooo much of the stuff in my home and garden i got amazing deals......
