So once again a potential natural disaster is better than virtually all rock music that's come out in the past 12 years...

Hell yeah they are....... I'm from Illinois and just about a year ago(4/20) there was a small quake. I sorta slept through it, but I still had a very weird feeling when I woke up. All I remember is a big cracking sound and a strange vibration travelling through my house. It was the night after seeing The Mars Volta so I was bit fried.

I miss earthquakes. I used to live in HB and we'd feel every little tremor and I always got a kick outta it, now I'm out here in the desert and swear to god that the ground opened up today and the flames of hell surrounded us all. 107 in the middle of May is just wrong. Glad to here everyone is ok, 4.7 is pretty little tho.
I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.

I hear ya, but not on EXACTLY the same volume...

I live in a suburb of SLC...which if you've never been is literally in a valley. We call it the Wasatch Valley, because it's located between the Uintah and Wasatch mountains, which is a range where one of the biggest faults in the country runs, called the Wasatch Fault. Long story short...they've been predicting it for years, and are still expecting it sooner or later...it's expected to be so catastrophic that it will pretty much pummel the entire valley, claiming hundreds, upon thousands of people.

Worst case scenario is that it happens in the winter time, which here in SLC it gets FUCKING cold, and very very snowy. If indeed this happened, chances are the Great Salt Lake would flood the valley with freezing cold water. On top of that, it's fairly certain that the majority of electricity will fail and people will be facing hypothermia and the big possibility of freezing to death...

Sounds like something out of a movie, right?

  • I just realized my long lost brother Bishop was worried about me and wanted to assure him that Gar survived. It was a nice jolt, right at the time I was getting ready to relax for the night. I may have overexagerated a little on the damage. By carnage, I meant that one picture was knocked off my wall. Yeah, it was no Northridge, but a previous poster was right about us getting a nice scare in South Bay. I was 3 miles from the epicenter.
