    bahahahaha
cmon man i used to have that amp i aint all that bad, doesn't compare to my fender hot rod deluxe limited edition though!

anyway im not sure about Stone but on Mike's pedalboard you'll ALWAYS find an Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer, Dunlop Crybaby wahh, possibly a Univibe or Rotovibe in his earlier days, boss delay pedal as well as a few others.

    Here:

Mike's sound: Have a vibe pedal, Wah, overdrive (TS9, BOSS BD2(Mike's is moded)). Also, you'll want a delay. The BOSS DD6, Ibanez ad-9(Mike's is moded), or (the newer of the bunch) Carbon Copy can help you there.
Stone's sound: Flanger (I use an Ibanez FL-9), Wah, Overdrive (TS9, BOSS BD2, BOSS Super overdrive -moded), MAYBE a chorus pedal.

Both guys use the MXR Phase 90. If you want an early PJ sound, go with a Marshall Guvnor reissue. No joke, it gives me the exact distortion from "Porch" or "alive". The moded BOSS Super overdrive is good for a mid 90s sound. For the Nothing As It Seems solo distortion and I Got Sh*t sound, get a Fender Blender.

ALWAYS use a tube amp. I use a tube hybrid that works just fine, too.

    I hope this helps.

just did some research on the net and youtube looks like your right! the guvnor pedal replicates the jcm800 amp sound, which just so happens to be one of the amps mike used to use in the ten era (he had a pan pedal to switch between that and he clean fender).

Looks like i'll be getting this badboy pedal to add to my arsenal which means i should then have a near perfect early mike sound!

    my current setup
fender hot rod deluxe limited edition tube amp
fender Stratocaster Stevie Ray Vaughan special edition
    Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer pedal
    Dunlop crybaby wah
    Dunlop Rotovibe (red)

You might want a delay, somewhere down the line but otherwise, you're doing great

*Edit* You'll wanna add ANOTHER drive pedal in there to boost the guvnor and to make it sound like the amp is "jumped"

    a third drive pedal? hahah
i must say with my amp cranking out loudly with both the Guvnor AND the Tubescreamer up on high gains it sounds pretty awesome! VERY JCM800 like!

any preference to order of pedals in terms of drive pedals?
at the moment my signal order goes guitar into wah into rotovibe into tubescreamer into guvnor into my amp

Sorry, i didn't see the TS9 in there. That works perfectly.

Order for drive pedals. Personally, I'd go with the guitar-TS9-Marshall-Amp. The heavier drive closest to the amp. This way, the tube screamer isn't overdriven by the Marshall but, instead, the other way around. It's all up to you, though. For my drive pedals, I have he guitar going into the Fender Flender(which barely gets used and isn't needed to be jumped), into my TS5 Tube screamer, into my guvnor (which IS jumped by the tubescreamer), into my moded DS-1. Also, you'll want the louder pedal to be closest to the amp, also (should be the Marshall still, unless you have a moded tubescreamer).
