Looking for advice with 'Solo Guitarists'

I've been pounding the Satriani recently and it just totally melts my face. Also have a live Rory Gallagher album is just insanely good too.

I want to get into more solo or good guitarists especially like bluesy shredders - like Tony Iommi becuase he is god.

There is Stevie Ray Vaughan who influenced McCready? Where do i start with him? What about Steve Vai? Paul Gilbert?

Not Yngwie, yeah i respect he can play dam fast but he sounds too boring for me ;p

So yeah just looking for any really nice guitarists who can shred and whale away with emotion.

Thanks for any help.

**edit** reminds me to check out Gov't Mule. I heard their set before they did their grunge one and it was brilliant from my memory!

    I love Mule/Haynes too.

I would suggest checking out Derek Trucks. :)

Stevie Ray Vaughn. Pick up his Live at the El Mocambo DVD. In terms of albums, I love his Live at Carnegie Hall CD. The version of Lenny on that is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. Texas Flood is his classic studio album.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

another good Stevie Ray one is "In Session". It's Stevie Ray and Albert King jamming some tunes. Awesome album. It's kind of like a "Storytellers" type album, but it is awesome. At least I really like it. 8-)

My favorite live album is Hendrix's Live at Winterland, just spectacular solos!. If your looking to see someone live, I highly recommend seeing Chris Duarte. He is an amazing live performer! Look to see if he's playing anywhere in your area, http://www.chrisduartegroupfans.org. You will not be disappointed, I promise ;) .

Gary Moore, most notably his live version of Parisienne Walkways, definitely worth a listen.

Went to see Chris Duarte last night in South Florida. Amazing again! Ran into a couple of PJ fans, one which went to all shows this past tour ^:)^ . Always cool finding people with your interests .
