i heard about the $40 charged for VIP Parking on the Porch so my gameplan for the '08 Mansfield shows was to find FREE parking. saved $80 over two nights by parking on a residential side-street, and it was only a 10 minute walk away.
as for the band, the clearly had a game plan as we watched their 5-car convey get a police escort out just as the 1st bunch of fans were exiting the venue,...

I just dont get why Pearl Jam play Mansfield, like miles away from a city and from any decent transport when i'm sure there is a venue in Boston. Hell when i went out there i saw a Boston Garden which looked fine to me? It might not be as good as an ampitheatre but still, im willing to make that sacrifice for a better location etc.

i was tempted to jump on the back of one and "hitch" a ride!

Someone dropped me a setlist out of the back of one of the busses... I already had one... so i gave it to one of the coolest guys on this board... JOSEVOLUTION!
I always park outside the lot. There are 2 or 3 houses right before the venue that you pay $20 to park in and your out of there in about 10 seconds. Plus you can grill and drink a few beers without the idiot cops busting your balls about every little thing. Parked outside for the Monday show: 20 minute walk to the car, 10 minute wait to get on the road, home by 12:30. A friend of mine parked inside and got home at 3:30. I've only parked in there once and the lesson was learned.

I totally agree. GThe $40 is worth it at that place. After waiting what seemed liked foreverafter night 1, I paid the extra money for night 2. It was def worth it IMO.

I was at night 1 and it took almost 2 hrs to leave. I only had 3 beers in my truck and those went too fast. Luckily there were cool fans to shoot the shit with while we waited. $40 lot from here on out.
Me and 5 other guys from this board that I had never met got a limo for night 1 last year. Drove us from Boston to Mansfield and back for like 75 bucks a person. THAT'S the way to go. Stylin' and profilin'!!
