Hyatt Regency is downtown, so both airports are about the same distance away. O'Hare probably offers more flights since it's much bigger than Midway. You can either take a taxi or public transportation from the airport to the hotel. Good luck!
Chicago 2000 : Chicago 2003 : Chicago 2006 : Summerfest 2006 : Lollapalooza 2007 : Chicago 2009 : Noblesville (Indy) 2010 : PJ20 (East Troy) 2011 : Wrigley Field 2013 : Milwaukee (Yield) 2014 : Wrigley Field 2016
Which would be closer to the venue or the Hyatt Regency hotel?
Where are you coming from? If you can fly Southwest they ususally offer pretty decent flights into Midway. It would cost about $20 from there in a cab. O'Hare in my opinion is far more expensive in a cab and O'Hare is also famous for delays and is usually a complete cluster fuck. Train is still a much cheaper option from both.
Yeah - go with whichever has cheaper flights.. you're about same distance/cost away from the hotel, so just go with the cheaper flight as your deciding factor.

Either airport is close, easy to get flights into. Whichever gets you the cheapest flights, use that airline/airport
I've been to several events at United Center, though I'm not actually from Chicago. From what I understand, you should stay the fuck away from public transportation to and from the venue. The trains are fine, but you don't want to be screwing around in that neighborhood after the show waiting for a bus.
Maybe some actual Chicago natives can chime in.
Take a cab. If you stay anywhere near downtown, it won't all that expensive.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
Lol, the area isn't exactly a war zone. If I were from out of town I would keep to myself and not act foolishly. There will be plenty of people leaving the concert. Perhaps you can wait together for a cab. I can understand not wanting to wait for a bus. If someone asks you for money, you can give them a dollar or just say "sorry" or you can ignore them. Entirely up to you. I think you will be fine if you keep to yourself.
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

O'Hare is one of the world's biggest airports, so the chances of delay are higher.
for the least they could possibly do
