    Yeah,I'm a geezer.
But man, these guys were and still are one of the ultimate party bands.
Pine Knob in the early 80's they would sell out 7 nights straight.
Went to 4 in a row one year.

One of the great live bands.
Saw them at the Paradise in Boston in 99 when they were playing a not so secret suprise warm up show (billed as "Juke Joint Jimmy and the House Party Five", supposed to open for Alex Chilton, but he played first) prior to starting their first tour in many years. The club holds about 800, there had to be 1200 at least in there and they played about 2 hrs 45 minutes, fantastic show.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Is Peter Wolf back in the band?

    Yeah,Peter Wolf was fantastic.
Would not have went if he was absent.
Still has the moves and voice to boot.
The only missing original was Stephen Bladd the drummer.

My second concert ever during their sanctuary tour at the cape cod collesium
    In 1978!
No band could top their live show and unending encores in those days...
Saw them at Fenway recently with Aerosmith and they still do that "freeze stop" moment in Detroit breakdown just like the old days..
In fact Dave Matthews band stole that aspect of their stage act for their "anyone see the bridge" performance!

I saw for the first time last summer and again this summer...they were always on my want to see list...well worth the wait, they played for 2:20 minutes or so...wife and I had pavilion seats 30 a piece so very good bang for the buck. This years show was quite different than last years...which was nice.

If we were British, Pine Knob would sound like a hilarious name for a venue!

I recall reading about the Rockets in Circus or Cream Magazine a long long time ago!

    LOL...

The Rockets are back together with a new singer...they opened for J Geils at the DTE in 2010...they sounded decent. I think the original singer passed away.
