PJ have the best folk/acoustic songs of ANY "Hard Rock" band!

Seriously, they're the only band I know whose softer songs show just as much genius as the harder stuff:

Man of the Hour
Low Light
Of the Girl
Nothing as it Seems
Immortality
Off He Goes
Fatal
Thumbing My Way
Soon Forget
All Or None
Thin Air
Around The Bend
Indifference
Long Road
Light Years
Black

All of them just amazing.

when i think of rock there is only one band who combines all the elements of rock together and can make it sound amazing, that band my friends, is Pearl Jam.

I agree. PJ and Zep are by far the best. They can combine amazing rockin' tunes then slow it down and still be incredible.
I still prefer PJs acoustic tunes to their harder ones, but that's just me!
  • i'm still waiting for an acoustic version of blood. :p

  • Benaroyal sums this up.

That album had all the tunes you never hear live at normal shows.

Like around the bend, all or none, fatal etc.
  • Yeah, their live acoustic sets/shows are fantastic. Personally, I prefer to hear Miracles with that country stomp. Same for Driftin' - fucking love that one. Or their take on Masters of War.
Around the Bend has sounded great these past few tours when they would play it. All Those Yesterdays, too. Low Light.

Don't forget Lukin!! That's fucking genious.

Porch was amazing acoustic too at mtv unplugged.
  • Bruce Springsteen has quite a mix as well. Although his "hardest" songs aren't really that hard (that's what she said).
