At home, drawing pictures of mountain tops
With him on top. Arms raised in a V,
The dead lay in pools of maroon below....

Daddy didn't give attention
To the fact that mummy didn't care
King Jeremy the Wicked, he ruled his world...

Clearly I remember, picking on the boy
Seemed a harmless_little_fuck,
But we unleashed the lion.
Nashed his teeth and bit the recess lady's breast
How could I forget?
And he hit me with a surprise lefft
My jaw lef hurtin', ooh dropped wide open,

Just like the day,
Just like the day I heard

Daddy didn't give affection
And the boy, was something, that mummy wouldn't wear
King Jermey the Wicked, he ruled his world...

Try to forget this,
Try to erase this,
From the backboard......
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

  • I agree. Ive heard the song millions of times. Still love it. It helped me get into PJ, so it will always have a special spot.
My first PJ show to witness was at Bonnaroo. How is that for lucky?
  • great song, I just can't get into it anymore...heard it WAY to many times.

Yeah, it's a song that I usually skip over when listening to PJ just because I've heard it so many times. I think it's still an excellent song, but I only listen to it occasionally.

Feel the same way about most songs off of Ten and of course "Betterman"- but I love all of them live!

Yeah, of all the concerts I've been to (quite a few) I've heard Jeremy EVERY time. When I listen to XM radio at work I see a PJ tune coming on...get all excited and see that it's Jeremy. Boo.
I did hear Man of the Hour, Hard Sun, Guaranteed, In Hiding, Given to Fly, Solat and Jeremy on XM today. I was pumped about all of them except Jeremy.
Good song, but beaten to death!

the alternate version from 1995 Red Rocks is awesome and I think they should release it. Better than the original in my opinion.

  • It gets bashed from over familarity, probably because its gets played on US radio alot..But over here in little old Britain we get no Pearl Jam on the radio, so its still fresh...

Undeniably one of their very best songs..I see no reason why this shouldn't be played as much as Black, Even Flow & Alive. Infact all 4 should be in on every PJ concert, along with Corduroy & Daughter.

We all love the random setlists, but certain songs should be played every time because they are so goddamn good. These 6 are the six!
  • great song but easily the weakest on ten.

I would say Even Flow or Why Go are the weakest.
