Could someone please give me a heads up about which live versions of Given to Fly and Go are some of the best. I think that they are my top two favorite songs of PJ and there are obviously so many live versions of both of them, but which stand out the most?

I would love to hear Mike McCready take the guitar riff of Go and extend it like they always do with Even Flow. I just love that sound.

And Given to Fly is just awesome.

Thanks!!!

  • having been there, I am really partial to given to fly from lollapalooza. the line "He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree" was replaced with a joint in the tree, but its a rockin' live version!

Those are probably 2 of the most impossible songs to pick a real favorite. Neither really strays too much from the original. The solos in Go are improvised, but they are generally pretty similar and if GTF got changed much it wouldn't be the same song.

Maybe try the different drummer eras to figure out which one plays each song the best. I can tell you Matt practically butchers GTF,imo though.
