Once again, I replayed that moment in my mind
I can't erase it, for it's lingered half a lifetime

You were about to let me back in
After traveling the miles and toiling in the heart
The look of love returned to your eye
For a moment...ready to return forever
And in that moment, I blew it

Not wanting to be hurt again
Not understanding you had finally come around
Not accepting that look in your eyes
I changed the subject...forever
And when I did, you were gone

It has been so many years now since we've parted
And to this day, I am haunted by my retreat
It has left me alone in a haze for so long now
I will never get used to it
To live in regret is a terrible thing

I relive that moment, that look in your eyes
I relive that moment, that tone in your voice
I relive that moment, that sigh in your eyes
And would give almost anything to go back
To grasp your hand, and hold it forever
