Best way to store show posters?

I'm packing up to move and was curious how other folks around here are storing their show posters. Some of the thicker ones I have left in the tube from the show day (they don't uncurl quite so nicely and I don't want to crinkle them trying), the rest I have in a giant art portfolio with large sheets of plain paper in between.

Short of spending $$$ to frame them all, what have you found to be the best way to protect yours?

you shouldn't keep them in a tube. that is bad news.

i think expressobeans has links to buy an archival box, i have a few of those and keep acid free paper between each paper.

i keep mine in a shoebox. if you fold them up just the right way, you can really fit a lot into one box.
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

For the record, ASW also sells the 24x36 portfolios (same brand, Picturesque) ... and, they send out 20% off coupon codes every week.

Here's the portfolio which comes with 5 sheets (thus, you can store 10 posters)

    http://www.aswexpress.com/art-supply/ca ... 5149000000

and then here are the refills ...

The code for May 5, Cinco de Mayo, is C5H6 .... use at checkout.

They send me an e-mail, usually once a week, with a discount code ... so, if you read this too late, hit me up and I'll try and get you next week's code when it comes out.

Some pics which I've posted before ....

How many refills do you think you can fit in this? I have loads of posters from numerous other bands, as well as an under-the-bed container of my own prints from school!

I have not found a very cheap way around this issues....
    Bought some from http://www.bagsunlimited.com/cart/browse.asp?subcat=145

Had to get a box that would hold them. If you have large collection, it will cost you.
The solution noted above is good but I found some of mine were too large to keep in the presentation case.

It states you can hold 40 pages, or 80 posters ... but, it gets REALLY heavy.

    I think 25 - 30 pages is reasonable.

I use framing corners on the sheets they gove to keep the posters down, you can see it in the third pic above, forgot to mention that.

I store mine flat in plastic sleeves (it's a special plastic and the name eludes me right now.....Expensive since it's acid free) with acid free backing board. You can store two posters per sleeve...Front and back...Always store flat in a dark area away from cigarette smoke.

In my frame shop I keep posters (pj and others) and important documents like original items signed by the pope, etc, sandwiched between two pieces of acid free (not regular white) foamboard while waiting to be framed. If you don't want to invest in a binder, you may want to buy a few pieces of AF foamboard from a local frame shop and use that.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

Anyone have links to a Euro/UK site that sells portfolio folders. I've tried googling with no success.

    Thanks.

this is all that you need:

    http://www.michaels.com/art/online/disp ... Num=ae0278

It's about $3 at Michaels. Open up the sides, lay it flat on the inside, put a piece of acid free craft paper in between each poster- and then close up the sides. Cheap, easy , and it works perfectly
